Fran said it's not the ones that get away that hurt you, it's the ones that you sign and don't make an impact that do. With that said, I disagree somewhat. So whether it hurt your program or not which loss bothers you the most? For me it is Carnell Williams. Fran went to see Brodie first while Auburn sent the whole family to Etowah to see Carnell. Fran ran the option yet put all his effort in the top dropback passer and missed on a stud 5 star running back. I also believe he felt SS was is natural position. We would've gotten Croyle anyway imo.

Honestly for me it has to be Landon Collins just for the simple fact that was the start of a bad momentum shift starting with him then 1/9 that I think we are still recovering from.

Deshaun Watson. Bobo and Richt put up some prolific numbers on offense but they had this really bad habit of letting dual threat QBs leave the state by mishandling their recruitment (see also Newton, Cam). After Murray, Watson could have/should have been the kid from an hour up the road that came in to lead UGA. Instead, he ends up leading Clemson to the national title game and Richt finds himself fired after stumbling through the next 2 years with Hutson Mason, Greyson Lambert, Brice Ramsey, and Faton Bauta.

Really, Landon Collins would not have helped LSU win a national title.

Dak Prescott is the one recruit in recent times that would have made a huge difference at LSU.

This is the Recruit we missed out on the most

At the time it was Peanut Whitehead out of Birmingham. Just looked like a monster defensive end that ended up signing with Louisville and had some medical issues and had to quit.

Losing Jason Allen to Tennessee hurt. He ended up being a stud. Brandon Spikes was leaning bama at one point and for the longest time it was a bama/virginia tech battle.

Vonn Bell probably pisses me off the most though because we essentially turned him away

Hard to say if Cam would have lasted at UGA with his shenanigans; dude couldn't even stay at UF under Meyer. Of course, having him to come in after Stafford and before Murray would have been pretty choice. Still, we had Murray who was no slouch whereas Watson would have been far and away the best thing that could have happened to Richt and Bobo post-Murray. Instead, Richt mismanaged his roster so bad (QB especially) that it got him canned

It's not about the national title part as much as he was the first big time guy from Louisiana who turned down lsu nationally for bama and then went on to host and help convince other Louisiana recruits it's cool to go to Bama. Like Cameron Robinson

And as far as Dakota Prescott goes there is no telling what Cam Cameron would have done with him

Neither Cam not Deshaun really bother me because I never expected either of them at UGA. Tunsil is, hands down, the one that bothers me the most. Even now, knowing everything we do, missing out on a true LT like that really sucked. Could have improved our OL a lot.

Mike Williams. Grew up a Carolina fan, signed with Clemson because we got lax in our recruiting of him.

I'm shocked Tim Tebow wasnt mentioned by any Bama fan. It was between us and UF and he stayed home. Called Shula crying to tell him he was picking the Gators. Would have been interesting to see how he would have shaped Bama's history given Shula was fired after Tim's freshman year and we got Saban.

Two in recent memory. Martez Ivey. Former teammate of Chandler Cox at Apopka. I thought Cox could help pull him from gators. Also CeCe Jefferson. I thought that dude was coming to AU but pulled some sort of shennanigans on signing day.

Tunsil is a close second for me if for no other reason than UGA just hasn't produced a truly great LT in a while. However, QB play in my mind is what tanked richts last 2 years (a symptom of the aforementioned roster mismanagement) and the fact that a guy like Watson was literally an hour north of Athens and we conpletely whiffed makes it all the more upsetting. Tunsil bothers me moreso because of how it all went down
