Maybe a related question.

Any of you of the belief that the likes of ESPN talk these high profile recruits into holding off announcements to have the opportunity to televise them on either all star games or NSD?

Umm, yes, absolutely.

Remember, ESPN is a self-promotion juggernaut and also a business. ESPN doesn't exist to provide sports news, information, and opinions. ESPN exists to provide a return to shareholders.

What do Bulldog fans think of Saban coming into Georgia and taking whoever he wants?

Honest question......I would be pissed, but I haven't heard much anger with Richt over it.

State of Georgia is fairly large and we aren't going to get everyone. If you look at our recruiting classes, we're doing just fine picking talent from the likes of NC, SC, Tenn, and Fla.

Saban is also one of the best coaches in the nation and has an NFL pedigree to sell. I have no problem with GA kids that want to play for him...just becuase you live in GA doesn't mean you were destined to play for UGA.

Yeah, looking back that was flame material I posted. I was trying to be honest and stir the pot a little, but it didn't come out right.

Saban doesn't get "everyone" like I posted, but he is rooted deep in Georgia.

I can agree with most of that.

I'm sure not every state is like Alabama when it comes to in state recruiting.

Didnt two of the top players in Alabama just head off to fsu?

I don't think Saban or Chizik will spend a lot of time mourning over that.
