I've been really nervous about our class.
But have been told that Bama will have a really small class this year. They can only sign 22.
Remember last year, all the fuss about defensive end Jarez Parks committing to Alabama, but would have to grayshirt. Well, he's counting against this class along with a couple of others, Hunter Brannon & Joseph Bulovas who had their enrollment delayed and will count against the 2018 class.

The fricked up thing is Bama sitting at #10 with 14 recruits. Bama gonna close with all top 150 recruits

Well 247 just gave most of their commits a massive bump up overall, completely shocking I know.

Yes, shocking. All those bumps over the years have proven to be without merit. I mean just look at Alabama's failures on the field.

I also expect that if they can keep their staff somewhat together they will have a shot at #1 again in 2019 tho UGA might pull it off next year
Georgia and Tennessee will be battling for the #1 spot in 2019. Georgia will be coming off a national title this year and Kirby has that machine at UGA churning. 2019 is also a record year for talent in the state of Tennessee. As of right now, the state of Tennessee has 19 composite 4-star players in the class of 2019. That's good for 5th most in the nation among states trailing only Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California. Add to that the buzz of having a new head coach. Lots of playing time available to lure recruits. And the fact Jeremy Pruitt is a lights out recruiter.
Perfect storm of factors will have Tennessee competing with Georgia for the #1 class in 2019.

The inevitable 7-5 record for the 2018 will hurt UT. Plus, UT is a tough sell at the national level right now. Also, a resurgent UGA, Clemson getting their share, and Bama dipping into west TN will make it even more difficult.
UT may have a top 10 class, but no way they push for the top class.

BAMA recruiting will be fine. Nothing to see here.

If CJP goes 7-5 in 2018, he'd better slaughter the fatted calf and thank the football gods DAILY.

Yet after 8 straight #1 classes little ole LSU still has more players in the NFL than Alabama, not sure how that's possible with all these huge bumps and #1 classes Alabama is reeling in...

ESPN lists it as 46 vs 45 in Bama's favor fwiw.

LSU also takes credit for Delvin Breaux even though he never played a down for them.
That's like Alabama getting credit for Kamara.

Not sure how well I'd trust that, the NCAA came out with this for opening day:

Butch Jones with absolutely no connections to the South was able to land the #7 recruiting class according to 247s composite rankings in 2014 after coming off a 5-7 season.
Its not hard to recruit to Tennessee. The school sells itself with its elite facilities and proximity to recruiting hotbeds like Atlanta, Charlotte, and Nashville. Now you pair the natural advantages that come with being at Tennessee with an elite recruiter like Jeremy Pruitt and a RECORD YEAR for talent in the state of Tennessee, I don't see how Tennessee isn't in contention for the #1 class in 2019.
If Butch Jones can land a #7 recruiting class during his first complete recruiting cycle at Tennessee during a time when there was far less talent in the state of Tennessee and he was not well known across the South, then I'm confident Jeremy Pruitt can do better. Much better. He might not land the #1 class. I think Georgia is the early favorite right now. Ohio State will be there as well. But Tennessee will be among those in contention. I think a top 3 class is definitely possible in 2019 for Tennessee.

Butch Jones is a redneck so he has southern appeal.

WOW, did Nick Saban and Alabama quit recruiting?

I know Alabama fans don't believe its possible but the fall has to start at some point. I think it starts this year in the College Football Playoffs when Kirby and UGA beat Saban and Alabama for the national championship. And then I think recruiting at Alabama takes a slight downturn.
The 10 year run of unprecedented dominance will end soon.
