I can believe that. ESPN has an agenda to sell as much drama as possible. The more drama the more money from advertisers. The media and the fans have made college football and 24/7 365 sports with very little effort and it all started with the creation of Rivals.

At the end of the day does the #1 class really matter? Yea we all want it for bragging rights, but truth of the matter is LSU, OM, Bama, UF, AU and UGA will all land solid classes. Arguably, LSU, Bama and OM's classes will be so close that there isn't much disparity.

As an LSU fan, if we are ranked #1 or #5, it doesn't discount the fact that this is arguably the best class we will have ever pulled in.

Truth. There will be no real difference between LSU's or Bama's class. There will be some, but nothing big between Ole Miss's and UGA.

Well, specific to what I stated about Beckner, what do you think the coaches recruiting for Mizzou would prefer? The notability of getting the #1 or 2 guy in the class on signing day, or a top ten recruit in the country recruiting for them from the summer before?

I just don't like ESPN inserting themselves into the recruiting process in that way.

If UGA adds about 9 guys that we could conceivably add, we'd have 301:

Michail Carter
David Marshall
EJ Price
Flip Tyler Simmons
Mecole Hardman
Demetris Robertson
Flip Jeawan Taylor
Add two from Mack Wilson, Derrick brown, Brian burns, Patrick Hudson, juaun Williams

If we were to land Brown, Hardman, Robertson, Price, and Carter, along w/ flipping Simmons, Taylor and Marshall, then we would hit 299.86. No way it happens, but it doesn't require us pulling somebody I would consider us an extreme long shot for - Wilson, Burns, Hudson or Williams.

This. No one should be shite talking between our classes since all classes will be separated by a few "composite points," which is a score made up by guys who run a website.

If someone tanks and loses a bunch of their signees (it could even be LSU with Fowler and Campbell on the fence), they will be flamed hard.

If you're not first you're last.

While I believe this to be true on the field. I don't believe it to be true in recruiting, which still remains purely subjective even with around the clock coverage.

With that being said, I hope our class this year - whatever the final ranking - comes in to contribute and keeps us from being "last" on the field

This shite would make sense if BamaOnline LSU247, AuburnUndercover etc. made up the rankings. But they don't.

Shannon Terry (an Alabama fan, though not Alumni) owns both BamaOnline, the largest subscription-based Alabama site on the internet, and 24/7.com.

Alabama fans are also the biggest customer base for Rivals.com.

Only Scout (and ESPN, but that's a different story) has a fanbase other than Alabama as their leading subscribers.

Shannon Terry owns neither 24/7 or BamaOnline. Tim Watts owns BamaOnline, and Shannon Terry sold 24/7 to CBSsports.

Shannon did, however, create both Rivals.com, which he sold to Yahoo, and 247sports. He doesn't have any part to do with the rankings, though.

Not too worried since many believe LSU's class is the best in CFB History

Who thinks that?

The dolts on ESPN who are pushing their recruiting rankings, which are the worst in the industry by far.

Unless something has changed, Terry is co-founder and owner of BamaOnline ( LINK)

He is also still in charge of 24/7 after the sale ( LINK)

I doubt he cares, but he is still the boss.

Not sure what Shannon's exact role is with BamaOnline, but Tim Watts is listed as the Owner on his page.

I wouldn't say we're extreme longshots for all of those. Burns, Williams, and Wilson in particular we are in the top 2 for. Now I think it's doubtful at this point that we get any of them but not necessarily a longshot from happening.

Williams and Hudson would seem to be the bigger priority among the four, boy is Pittman lacking at OT. It seems to me Price is the biggest must get that UGA looks to be in the driver's seat for, I would easily trade Hardman for Hudson.
