Ah. That's good. I thought it sounded like one of those grapevine type deals.

Jeffery Simmons 5*
Deontay Anderson 4*
Shyhiem Carter 4*
Jacob Mathis 4*

Feel as good as you can about all but Carter.

Yall are taking 3 TEs this year? Smith, Foristall, and Scales?

4) Shyheim Carter

Interested to see where he ends up. Several prominent 247 people have Crystal Balled him to Bama in the last few days, including both LSU guys. Bama's top guy Tim Watts picked Bama for him a few days ago.

Yeah at some point during the Nauta recruiting, someone said it is likely Alabama will be looking to take three TEs this year.

Guess we're going to miss OJ after this year and wanted to shore it up a bit.

Yeah all the OM experts (247, Rivals, Scout, etc...) all have him going to Ole Miss, and have been saying that for a couple weeks now. They've been saying for a while that Knott was likely to go to Alabama, and Carter to end up at Ole Miss. It'll be interesting to see what he does, recruiting this time of year is always a crap shoot

Ah, okay. Just wondering if my Mizzou buddies should get their hopes up for Scales flipping.

If I had to put my money on it, I'd say Carter goes to OM.

He visited OM last, our secondary is just DEEP with young highly ranked guys, and Knott just committed.

It's possible he may get spooked as Forristall is already on campus.

I hope you're right! What's the deal with Juarez's dad? Does he live in Alabama?

I felt really good about him after he threw up the Landshark during the Army bowl, but now it feels like its UCLA/Bama

But I have LSU landing Fulton, Mullen, Sci and maybe an OT suprise

That's how I see it as well.If we get a surprise it is likely to be a low -4-star O lineman. Although we even have room for one after that even. Bama should have enough signing day additions to comfortably get the "# 1" class, especially that Divinity and others got the last minute comedic downgrade while others get the necessary last minute "bump". That's what Carter was all about imho. A little false "drama" to create expectations and give the people that need it their last tiny little boner on signing day. Same shite, different year-getting those subscriptions sold.

How come only Alabama fans can buy these subscriptions?

If UGA adds about 9 guys that we could conceivably add, we'd have 301

Probably unlikely we add all 9 (realistically), and simply based on volume alone, we likely aren't taking a top 1/2 class here. Will be ecstatic with a top 5 finish and keeping that avg. rating per player taken right around 92 (recently dropped just a bit I assume due to final ratings decreases for a few players committed/already enrolled). But the fact that we're having this discussion in a season where wholesale changes were made and there are a lot of question marks in terms of existing talent is unbelievable to begin with.

quote:

Michail Carter ?
David Marshall
EJ Price

Flip Tyler Simmons ?
Mecole Hardman
Demetris Robertson ?
Flip Jeawan Taylor ?
Add two from Mack Wilson, Derrick brown, Brian burns, Patrick Hudson, juaun Williams

Durden, what's your confidence level on the ?s and/or the multi list at the bottom. I think the 3 I bolded seem like strong chances for UGA, really uncertain on the others. Are you thinking 9 is legit or stretch goal with a more likely 5-7?

Multiple Bama commits experienced significant drops in the last 247 rankings, FWIW.

Not the big ones, though. LSU was about where we currently are BEFORE Lawrence, Divinity, and Allen committed.

Smith and Alexander were once top 10 recruits. Now, they are 4-stars.

It is what it is, but denying the Bama bump is ridiculous at this point. Regardless of the reason(s), it clearly exists.

Ok Pawl. No need to melt.

You will notice that kids that are already enrolled tend to take a ratings dive, and those left undecided tend to hold or improve their ratings. Also those who skip the all star games because of injuries get hammered, even if they have done the camp circuit for years. They manipulate this crap and create narratives to bring it to crescendo on signing day. It's soap opera for white grown men in cargo pants (guilty) that live in the deep south (guilty again).

I agree with this, LSU would be running away with it otherwise. I'm not even salty about it, it makes perfect business sense for the sub sites. Our class is loaded. Being ranked #1 on ESPN will be nice and good pub for us.

I don't like the insinuation that I wear cargo pants.
