Ho hum, the SEC dominates recruiting again.

(All numbers 24/7 composite)

7 SEC teams finish in the top 10

SEC had the highest average recruiting class ranking among P5 conferences - by far:

1. SEC - 249.90
2. Big Ten - 212.78
3. PAC-12 - 209.44
4. ACC - 207.09
5. Big XII - 205.41

The SEC’s average recruiting class would’ve finished no worse than 4th in any other conference. The closest team to that average number in the SEC was South Carolina. They finished 8th.

The Big Ten‘s average class would’ve finished 11th in the SEC. The average team from the PAC-12, ACC or Big XII would’ve finished 12th.

Tennessee was 7th in the SEC. They would’ve been the top class in the PAC-12. Vanderbilt was in last in the SEC and they finished above 13 P5 schools (including USC lol)

Nicely done fellas

It's scary when the 18 class ranks 8 in the conference

Maybe is too simplistic but with proper developing it looks like at least 9 SEC teams had a class good enough to be serious contenders, given they string 2-3 classes of the same level. It’s going to be a dogfight for everyone.

Has there EVER been 4 teams with a score of 300 or more in a single class.?
I wasn't able to find it if there was.
It seems amazing to me how well these top programs are recruiting..

I don't think so. That's just absolutely insane. SEC, Clemson and OSU look to be the only players on a national stage when talking playoffs. Who else has a shot ?

Based on this chart, I see 13 programs doing the job well enough IMO to win.

Gotta be at 90 per recruit IMO and the top 13 do just that (maybe top 16 if you round up to 90 which I put in Parens)

6 SEC Schools (7)
2 B1G Schools (3)
2 Big 12 Schools
1 ACC (2)
1 Pac
1 Indy

This isn't very different than it's been the past 15 years really.

You have the SEC at the top as the deepest.

You have the B1G with OSU as good as anyone then Michigan/PSU a step or 2 down

You have the ACC with one contender annually (FSU/Clemson) then 1-2 more good schools and now ND affiliated

You have 1 power in the PAC (usually USC but Washington/Oregon have filled that void)

Big 2 in the Big 12

20 of the 24 past playoff spots taken by teams currently top 10% in recruiting.

Every national championship winner in playoff era sits in the top 5%.

Only one team outside the current top 5% has made it to the the finals.

There isn’t really equity in college football recruiting like basketball.

It’s funny how the national media talks about how top heavy the SEC is and then a 4-8 South Carolina team gets a top 20 class

Oregon will be there soon. Give Mario one more class. He’s about to flip to the right side of the blue chip ratio and his roster management is superb by stacking talent. What makes the PAC even worse is how they get there. For instance, UW gets an impressive haul for a unit in one cycle and then takes the next cycle off. They didn’t recruit a single DL in this cycle.

Also, I don’t see this trend being good for CFB.

This is scary

LINK

Is it really surprise why Utah is consistently a PAC 12 south contender.

Hopefully there is above average evaluation and development in the trenches.

When Mario left Bama for Oregon I always knew he was going to do great. He is a heck of a recruiter and with the backing of Nike should lead the Pac for a long time.

Maybe so. The problem for Oregon is they don't get to play many marquee games. Right now they are Clemson Lite of the PAC. There isn't any other team to challenge them.

USC just needs to hire a dynamic coach. They are sacrificing Helton this year because of the schedule. The PAC is better when USC is good.

There are still 2 4* and 1 5* signee that hasn't signed and all 3 are likely SEC bound.

Oregon plays Ohio State the next two seasons and then Georgia.

The schedule isn’t the impediment.

Cristobal looks like he will be able to build a monster in Oregon. Good coach, great recruiter, Saban disciple, Nike money and uniforms and the rest of the PAC 10 is terrible. Should be able to build something similar to Clemson. Needs to dominate California in recruiting and likely will.

Biggest threat to Oregon’s future will be Saban’s retirement. He’s probably the 2nd call behind Swinney.
