A local ATL HS coach was on radio this morning, his school just had back to back to back to back visits from the four of them in 4 consecutive days. He was asked to describe each of them.
Saban- All business
Meyer- All business
Dabo- Mr Happy Friendly Family Man, likeable, very Richt-like
Kirby- Most approachable and likeable, relates best to the kids directly, almost on a peer-to-peer level
I believe it was Salyer's coach at Pace Academy, but I can't be sure because it was on The Front Row which constantly does such a shitty job in their broadcast and leaves listeners confused on a daily basis.

Kirby was at the game last night sitting with the team watching for about 10-15 minutes. Seemed super relaxed. Was surprised the team was sitting in upper level (ww). Made my sons year as we were in vv.

Prolly cause he's got the same dorky haircut as the kid in science class that all the players cheat off of.

And your coach doesn’t look nerdy?

This kid was an All SEC Safety.
Probably a more relatable image than a kid in science class.
But you can believe what you want to believe.

You know how the internet works, right?... he doesn’t actually believe that.

Kirby is a great recruiter (just like the other 3 coaches mentioned) but I have to be honest, I don't know how. As a Bama fan, I've heard a lot of his interviews and he seems to have a very dry personality, looks very out of date (chubby, no style-hair cut) purses his lips in a weird way at the end of every sentence. Not sure how he connects well with 17-18 year old AA kids, but kudos to him for making it happen.

well, based on interviews Saban is a jackass... and Dabo is an insecure goofball.
How these guys act with a microphone in their face means zero when it comes to the personal connections they make with recruits and their families.
Smart is obviously awesome at it.

Saban can be a jackass, but he can also be sarcastic and hilarious and that comes through all the time in his interviews. Dabo may be goofy, but he's the opposite of insecure. He's very comfortable in his own skin, fun, outgoing, etc. Much easier for me to see how those two connect with young guys. But that's just me.

My son wrestled at Wetminster for a tournament one year. It was pretty impressive. Some of those upper private schools are unbelievable.

not all the coaches can be sports wearing a sweater vest, glasses and a visor

Why all the hate for nerds all of a sudden? Gus is definitely not smooth, but honestly, I am pretty happy with us somehow doing as well in recruiting as we are with GA and AL doing so well.
Kirby is definitely killing it in recruiting.
Out of those four names, he is the only one without a natty. Have to wonder if he changes that soon.
I wonder what kind of class Mullen pulls this year?

Your description of Kirby sounds like you enjoy the company of men. It’s cool, not judging, just thought I’d point that out.

Yeah, I've seen the "jackass" and "sarcastic" parts of Saban in interviews. Have yet to see the "hilarious" part, though.

Slight tangent - why is Clemson's class so small? It's not like they can save the spots for next year. Use 'em or lose' em, Dabo.

Valid question. Wasn't their class last year small also? On phone and don't feel like looking it up.
