That Conoco on the corner of Stilesboro and Kenn Due West used to sell cigarettes to underage kids. I also murdered a prostitute from a cheap Hwy 41 motel and dumped her body on what is now the tennis courts.

You know, hindsight really is 20/20

Fortunately I know enough about the school and the people who still work there that I can drop some names if need be to make me at least seem like I'm one of the herd.

And I went to a few homecomings in old Milton. It was just pieced together like a shitty lego creation.

Realize, back then it was just cow pastures and packs of wild dogs. Cobb County has changed alot over the years.

Word out of Tuscaloosa is that Tyren Jones has been tearing it up in practice and is the best of the freshman RBs so far, sans Henry who is injured.

It's not Jones.

May be he's showing out to increase market value for the next team?

I assume it includes picking up the playbook, working out, etc.

The guy who posted it on BOL has been his track coach for 5+ years. He said he talks to Tyren every day and he is gaining more and more confidence that he can excel in Alabama's offense. Doesn't sound like a guy who quit his team already.

This is huge. This needs to be forwarded to Adams and Chambliss.

Those 2 are built much differently than Tyren Jones. As I said, Tyren Jones probably isn't even as tall as he is listed, which is 5-8.5. He is probably closer to 5'6 or 5'7, like Dee Hart. It might not be a popular opinion among Alabama fans, and some may disagree with it, but I just don't see him fitting in Alabama's offense as a running back.

I think Nick Saban prefers players that are more like Altee Tenpenny and Derrick Henry.

Tyren Jones is listed at both larger or the same weight as Ingram out of high school. And that a poor assumption that he has to be an inch or more shorter than his listed height, especially with all the camps that verify it. Really inconsistent rule of thumb.

And using Dee Hart is not really a great example, just purely for the fact Hart is a large unknown other than bring injury prone. His injuries have happened with zero contact, which doesn't reflect on what type of back he is. He hasn't done anything to use him as a comparison yet. I guess if a Saban Back is an uninjured back, then yeah, Hart isn't a Saban back.

It makes no sense to even mention him...

Oh, that guy

According to him, Jones is the #1 back in the nation, will lead the nation is rushing yards, win the Heisman, go straight to the NFL, then take a break to be on the US Olympic Sprint team.

Sorry, I can't take that guy seriously

Kenyan Drake made a name for himself last summer in skels, and he ended up playing a good bit as a freshman.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but it's my opinion. Whether right or wrong, only the future knows. I just don't see him fitting into the Alabama running back mold.

Let's look back at running backs under Nick Saban at Alabama...

2007: Terry Grant (5'9, 190) carried the load, and after him was Glen Coffee (6'1, 200), followed by Roy UpChurch (6'0, 205).
2008: Glen Coffee (6'1, 200) carried the load, then Mark Ingram (5'9, 210), and then Roy UpChurch (6'0, 205) spelling both of them.
2009: Mark Ingram (5'9, 210) carried the team, followed by Trent Richardson (5'9, 220), and then spelled by Roy UpChurch (6'0, 205).
2010: Mark Ingram (5'9, 210) carried the load, followed by Trent Richardson (5'9, 220), and then Eddie Lacy (6'0, 220) spelled both of them.
2011:Trent Richardson (5'9, 220) carried the load, followed by Eddie Lacy (6'0, 220), with Jalston Fowler (6'0, 235 pounds) spelling them.
2012: Eddie Lacy (6'0, 220) carried the load, followed by TJ Yeldon (6'1, 215 pounds), with Kenyan Drake (6'1, 200) spelling both of them.
2013: TJ Yeldon, Kenyan Drake, Jalston Fowler, Derrick Henry, Altee Tenpenny, Dee Hart, Tyren Jones, and whoever else.

Look at the size of the starting running backs. Aside from Terry Grant, there haven't been any smaller backs. Even when Mark Ingram was a freshman, he was around 210 pounds. I just don't see a guy like Tyren Jones or Dee Hart ever being the go to guy for this offense. If history stays true, Alabama will keep riding those big backs.

Regarding the camps, what were Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram measured in at? Mark Ingram was listed at 5'10 while attending Alabama, and Trent Richardson was listed at 5'11 while attending Alabama. They both ended up being 5'9 at the NFL combine. Still, they are and were built different than Dee Hart and Tyren Jones.

And I just typed way too much for something that we'll have to wait to see.

That was The Opening. He played through the flu at the AA game. But he didn't have any problems besides that. He's one of the hardest working guys we have. If it's him, I'll quit posting
I'll second that. No chance it's Lawson. I doubt it's Adams but if I take my orange and blue glasses off I could see him as a possibility. I also see this being total BS as a possibility.
