You got 1.75 years out of him, was just a JUCO, and always an idiot. Corral is a bit different coming in as a true freshman.

Quit down playing it guys. A good player is a good player, let's not act like they aren't all going to crack open a beer or two in college.

I've been saying this from the beginning. He's a good player, and I'll be damned if someone tells me they don't want a QB who gets drunk and beats up Gretzky's kid. It's normal, and he seems to be a good QB.

Yes, it looks like Florida let him go.

It doesn't even look, it is. We had this argument on the Gators board a month ago when Mullen went to talk to Fields in person before even making a call to Corral. I'm still upset, because I think Corral would have done well at Florida, and I hope there's a plan (unless MSU fans are right and this is normal) but it was clear from the beginning that Mullen wanted no part in Corral.

Florida fans better have some hope. Andrew Ellis (Ohio Insider) has a 86% correct pick and he just flipped his CB for Emory Jones to Florida.

I refuse to get hyped until it happens. Insiders have burned Florida so hard.

I would bet Florida ends up with a top dual threat qb in this class. Whether it’s fields, Jones or someone else, someone is going to realize there’s a good opportunity to come in and compete to play as a freshman. As much as I despise l him, mullen knows how to coach qb.

To be fair to Straws, he's been consistent on this from jump.

I'd agree, unless there is more to the character concerns than getting drunk occasionally and punching a kid that was likely as douchey if not more so than Corral, the concerns on that end seem to be pretty silly.

There are UF writers who aren't writing this off as *exclusively* him being let go, but certainly not making him the priority that it probably should have been if they wanted to keep him. I mean, if they didn't want him at all, they probably don't visit him in person... but that doesn't mean they were pitching their A game either.

End of the day, he's a poor fit for Mullen's most recent iterations of his offensive plans. If I'm Corral, I recognize that and I probably press on how Mullen intends to adapt to what I bring to the table and if I don't like what I hear, then even Ole Miss on probation with scholarship reductions may be a better option.

The weird thing to me is if Mullen did this without a good idea of who the alternative was... if it was a wing and a prayer to land another top QB, it seems like a pretty dramatic misstep. Landing Emory Jones would definitely be a hell of a trade up as far as QBs that fit what Mullen wants to do *but* I would say he's a bit of a project from what I've seen... Upside, obviously Mullen has some experience getting guys ready to produce in college. Will be interesting to follow along to say the least. I wish you all of the worst luck possible.

I think a lot of people are interpreting me as saying: No, we never wanted him (including myself) because he flipped -- but I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying I've been wanting him from Day 1 to come to Gainesville and whatever Mullen is doing I hope it pans out because I don't agree.

He should have been a priority.

I want to believe he has a plan, and I need to see something more conclusive to this. If we don't sign a QB, a really good QB, I'll have lost a little faith in ''the process'' that people want me to trust.

Maybe there are character issues I didn't/couldn't see, but we pretty much just lost one of the best quarterbacks of this class for basically wandering in the dark.

That being said, if we landed Emory Jones then I'd be so daring as to say they told Corral to go on because we were going to get the commit from Jones.

If we lose Jones, Fields and Corral, though, that'd be a terrible look for us.

If Jones doesn't actually flip, I would almost feel bad for UF. Between Chip, Frost, Fields, Corral, and now potentially Jones...sooo much excitement followed by sooo much disappointment.

I take that back. I would love it.

Logic dictates that Mullen didn't prioritize him, Ole Miss did, and then Mullen tried to get back into it when they missed on the JUCO kid. You don't do an in-home and schedule an OV in the same week to a kid you're not gonna take.

You might if you were visiting other kids on that side of the country. I have no idea what Mullen is/was thinking, but he never wanted Corral, man. I debated other Gators about it forever. The visit could have been for optics alone, or my suspicion: That they had other potential targets to visit in the area and were lazily trying to keep Corral in the picture.

Admittedly Ole Miss gets much better things with their money than A&M has been.

Visited Fields and Jones before Corral.

Emory is a better fit for UF imo. Alabama wants him bad, but they also have 2 DT QBs ahead of him. He could start day 1 at UF. Maybe Mullen can pull this one and make things a lil more interesting for yall

No one else seems to care about playing early. Jones ends up at OSU (50%), Bama (30%), or UT (10%) IMO.

Corral and UF was probably a mutual parting of ways. Good for both team and coach.

But lol at UF fans already questioning Mullen and his choice of QB recruits. Never change Gator nation.

It's really ridiculous how some Florida fans are

They have PTSD from the last two coaches. Mullen brought guys like Tim Tebow and Cam Newton to Florida, and Dak Prescott and Nick Firzgerald to Miss State, and they still don't trust him. It's no coincidence that merely hours after Corral decommits we have a borderline 5 star QB committed to Ohio State flying into Gainesville for the weekend.

I've been told by guys around the program that Emory to UF is done and it's happening, but we'll see. You never know with how some of these recruits are.
