No Saban. Weak NIL collective.
Back to reality....a hard and huge fall for Bama fans. Hope to God that DeBoer is a great coach. He will need to prove it.
I read something about Alabama's "NIL machine", which was "managed" by Satan, oops Saban, outside of the purview of the Athletic Director.
Following Saban's resignation and DeBoer's hire, the termination of so many Alabama's non-football staffers was done so by the Athletic Director in order to restructure that NIL function under the Athletic Director and not the Head Coach.
If Alabama was going to take a hit anyway, better to rip off the band aid and do it all at once.
Is this what Saban had planned to do from his new office?

Bama as a program had no clue this would happen.
Any UA fan that followed UA before Saban knew this would happen.

Clarify here because are we talking about the hiring or firing of Jimbo Fisher.

Sorry.
My post was a summary of various articles and postings on message boards, etc., some from "informed" sources who have proved to have some insight into various NIL programs across the country.
While most of the Alabama organization had interviews of sorts, apparently part of the staff was simply dismissed. In all the discussions, the need for cost cutting at the admin level has never been mentioned.
Doesn't take too big of a leap to believe their loyalties were to Saban.

So you have no link other than some rumor board gossip regarding Saban was in charge of the collective. Thanks for clarifying.

Fact is, Alabama as a football program is less than average without Saban.
Saban IS Alabama.
Great run Saban (aka Bama) but that is over. Bama is now immensely disadvantaged and they have no "bag money" solution.
Very, very poor planning. And not something they can recover from. The damage is done. DeBoer will need to seriously prove himself as a top coach. Welcome to the SEC....

Yes a&m is due to big brother in Austin now even more that they have joined the conference. And according to the latest budget released a&m has no money but running a net loss for 2023.

No matter how much Aggie pays players, they will always be a mediocre program. Dumbest/most foolish program in the SEC. Aggie will always be known as the program that paid a $75 million buyout.

Saban retired on the 10th, so they still have 20 more days to go.

Texas A M pays it’s retired coaches more than Saban lol

Ah! Great point! I was thinking about when Alabama was put out of the playoffs, but you are correct. The timeline would have moved once Saban retired. Good catch!

This is going to be a classic case of the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Deboer had a kush life brewing in WA with a satisfied fanbase. Could just keep chomping away with that program and built a strong power. Now he’s already hitting insane unrealistic expectations at Bama.

Oatis sounds like Ole Miss
Whatever some Alabama fans think about Pete Golding regarding his tenure as DC, and I happen to think he is a good DC, one thing everyone agrees with regardless if you are an LSU fan (me here), Bama fan, Ole Miss fan or any other fan of an SEC team, is that Golding was a DC that also busted his az**** on the recruiting trail.
Thus, if Oatis winds up at Ole Miss, that suggest to me in part the role Golding played in recruiting the current roster at Bama, in particular on the defensive side. So Bama's roster on the defense could be in play for Ole Miss with Golding as DC.

I am trying to figure out the fighting Yell Leaders of Texas A&M. When you all want to go after LSU, you pecker ride Bama, now you are trolling Bama.
I am no Bama fan at all, without Saban they are still in the historic SEC, among the Big6, and had the most SEC titles even without Saban. In the now with 16 teams, Bama is in the BIG8 with Texas and OU. Between Bryant and Saban, Curry won a co-SEC I think in 1989, shared with TENN/Auburn, Stallings won the SEC and AP/Coaches NC in 1993, even Dubose won an SEC title and Shula won 10 games at Bama.
They will still be a formidable opponent, but nothing like Saban's run as those are once in a generation or 2 generation type runs. But formidable nevertheless.

Nah. We were feeling pretty good anyway. Still struggled with Saban, but it was obvious he had slipped a bit, and we were growing stronger, so we were fine either way.

Remember at Coach Kalen DeBoer’s press conference, that he wanted to pick Nick Saban’s brain and get “one thing per day” fro him?
I wouldn’t have said that if I were him.

Pete's recruiting has been nothing short of spectacular for Ole Miss.
