GA can match it but Kirby doesn't use the model of overpaying to get recruits

You have to earn your NIL money with playing time

If college football starts losing money because 3 programs spend millions to win something will change. That being said he was selling commitment tshirts today so someone will grab him out of the portal after next year

Changes are gonna come and it's gonna be more like the NFL. Kids aren't gonna be able to easily portal out. And there will be some kind of rules put in place to prevent businesses from paying for NIL that's not expecting it to actually be profitable for their business.

When Georgia signed both a 5-star LB and DL from Texas in the 2024 cycle, was that pretty sad or was that perfectly acceptable in your world?

Suck it up, buttercup.

I can tell you UGA cannot outbid Texas. If they went to UGA over a Texas school it’s because they were recruited harder and shown a better coaching future. It is what it is, I don’t think even the dumbest of fans would believe this simply wasn’t a highest bidder thing on terry. Both schools have good programs. Cheers

Yeah. UGA complaining about overpaying is funny. Kirby is the reason OSU/Day have been going stupid. He admitted it.

Who is complaining about overpaying?

We are making fun of it because we don't and still win

OSU does it and gets their arse beat by a 6-5 team

but this didn't just happen overnight..

You bumped up your offer substantially in the last 36 hours. You weren't in the top 3 before that. Now you're number 1.

So yes, he wouldn't have went to Texas unless you paid him substantially more than UGA was gonna pay him. This is Caleb Downs, except the Ohio State U. actually knew for sure they had a first round draft pick after seeing him play a year of college ball.

Honestly, the stars don't match the production here.

He'll be a very good player, but I don't think UGA missing out on him is as big a deal as us missing out on Kevin Wynn. It stings because we've recruited him since 8th grade. Elijah Griffin is a much better player now.

Sounds like it worked out well for Georgia then.

You think UGA can outbid Ohio state?? Caleb downs was in an apartment complex in Athens the day before he committed to Ohio state. It’s simply not the case. If your gripe is that Kirby is selling kids on a better potential nfl career and playing system then ok

I tried to tell non-Texas fans…it’s just a matter of getting the right coach in place to press the right buttons. Unlimited resources at Texas.

They probably can afford to be wrong like that. We can't.

you mean making it legal to pay players what they deserve?
it's a good thing this is no longer under the radar.

Let's go! Are we gonna have the unanimous #1 class? Waiting on Texas to release the news so the recruiting sites update.

That sounds like something an Aggy would say.

When you win, it proves the greatness of your program. But when you lose, the other side must have cheated.

STFU.

Basic free market principles will ultimately level everything our wrt teams "getting out bid" by deeper pocket schools. Just like the NFL, there are a lot of busts who teams pay a lot of money then have to eat the crap sandwich. This will happen enough times to all schools that they well self impose rules and regulations that they will not do "moving forward". Rich people don't stay rich by being dumb with money. There are enough five star busts that NIL donors will begin to pumped the brakes on just throwing millions to an unproven HS recruit just because he has five stars beside his name.
