By what measure? Playing on a much better team?

Murray had more yards and more TD's playing in less games with a much much worse supporting cast.

Aaron Murray was 6foot tall and had a smallish frame which I think is probably the biggest knock on him. Didn't have amazing arm strength. Hell of a QB for us but his first two seasons were at times a struggle. He improved every year but his freshman season we were more pass happy. Anyone that watched this season would tell you Fromm was more polished than Murray and Murray was a Redshirt Freshman. Murray had a 155 rating and Fromm had a 165 rating. It's not like Murrays teams were devoid of talent. Hell, AJ Green alone is a QBs dream.

They didn't put much on Fromm's plate this season with the stable of good running backs.

2018 is where you see them opening it up alot more. The OL and receivers will continue to grow altogether with him.

Murray didn't have AJ Green at the beginning of that season when UGA struggled and he certainly didn't have a Chubb/Michel combo to rely on.

You may be right but I just don't see Fromm as that guy with a big NFL arm that you typically see with the guys that leave early. Maybe it's just because he hasn't been asked to do too much yet. Most of my UGA buddies seem to agree that he's more of a four year guy too though.

Thinking that Fields joins the Armed Forces, because that can be an excellent life choice. I know the Air Force is on him the hardest. I'll lyk

Is it though? Development process in MLB is long... Similar caliber (relative to his recruiting ranking... who knows yet how accurate it will be) QBs of Fields' build/skillset have been able to find success in the NFL more quickly.

Guaranteed money. Time to develop. Not nearly as taxing on your body/brain. MUUUUUUUCH more money if you DO end up making it to the big leagues.

"Baseball America expert Carlos Collazo was blind to the gridiron hype when he watched 5-star high-school quarterback Justin Fields play shortstop this summer."

Goes on to say he's a little behind on baseball bc of his focus on football but that he as great potential and will get drafted just unsure where at in the draft

I can see why some people might assume that he would stay 4 years... and he certainly could... but the "he's definitely a 4 year guy" stuff is a little overblown. If 6'2" Mitch Trubisky can not only get drafted... but drafted in the first round... based on essentially one pretty "meh" year, I could see Fromm getting a good look after 3 seasons... particularly as he's a highly efficient QB... He'll have to continue to develop, and we'll likely have to evolve the offense a bit next year anyways, since no matter how good Swift or Zeus may be, it's not going to be trivial to outright replace what Chubb and Michel have done... the balance of run/pass may adjust as a result.

Just my opinion though... and it's hardly cemented yet.

Yea it's probably a little premature to assume either way given he was handled with kiddie gloves until the last two games where he performed outstanding.

He doesn't strike me as a Eason/Stafford pro type. We'll see how it plays out.

Where FIelds would be drafted the guaranteed money would be low. The grind to the majors is legit. Most top prospects flame out. What we call 5 star prospects in the majors flame out at an extremely high rate whether it be arm injuries or pitchers figure out that a guy can't hit a slider.

If he's drafted in the second round he might get a less than a mil- quite possibly as low as 250K bonus. That's pennies on what he could make as a star QB but you already know that.

Hands down better if elite. Baseball pays more, far less damage to your body. If elite that is. If good but not clear cut, stick to football.

Yep, he's no where the level of an Acuna who is no guarantee of being a factor in the Majors, who Braves nation desperately needs to be.

His father wants him to pursue all avenues towards baseball before football.

Why do people say this? Fromm isn't short. He has a good arm. Throws the best out route I've ever seen

Is there actually a legitimate shot that he declares for the MLB draft before finishing out his college football career?

Asking for all SEC football programs everywhere.

He throws the best out route you've ever seen? Like of any QB in your entire life? I didn't watch him play that much this year but that seems like an insane assessment. If thats true I feel like every analyst in the world would be drooling over this guy already (because they love to do that, see almost every QB USC has signed in the last 15 years) and talking about how he is going to handle getting drafted by the browns with the 1st pick as soon as he is eligible.
