which is just another one of your many idiotic takes

Yeah, Wims took the JUCO route and stepped on campus as a Sophomore. Godwin was recruited and brought in by Richt. I never give coaches credit/fault for what the coaches had done before them regarding single players.

But I'll gladly say that the upperclass-led defense and star running backs were certainly Richt's doing and that Kirby walked into a favorable job.

Or do you think UGA was just that bad and Kirby cleaned house and made it into the powerhouse it is?

JUCO's always take development. Wims was very raw, and didnt see the field much last year.

Godwin has improved a ton this year compared to his 1st 2 years.

Hardman was a Qb in HS and a DB in 2016. He has improved a ton to this point.

To claim all 3 were finished products who didnt need any coaching up is pure cluelessness.

Fromm wasn't the problem in that game.

Maybe not but he certainly wasn't a solution either.

You can turn a program into a powerhouse without "cleaning house."

UGA will ALWAYS have a reasonably high amount of talent, so anybody will be walking into a "favorable situation." Richt got slighted by idiots who thought he only won in 2002 because of Donnan's players. He proved them wrong in 05.

The mindset has unquestionably changed, even commentators who have only watched a couple of our games have noted that, and that is 100% a product of Smart.

On top of that, he's improving the talent pool with these insane recruiting classes. The 2019 team will be the most talented UGA team of all time by recruiting ratings. Basically all of those players being Kirby recruits.

Well I mean you are talking about Straws, he is probably still trying to figure out how they didn't hire Chip Kelly

As they took the stage together Sunday, both were asked to reflect on the similar circumstances of their ascendance: Neither Georgia or Oklahoma was in a rebuild.

Smart, however, was asked to improve on a program that was used to winning 9-10 games a year under Mark Richt, but wanted more.

“There’s two kinds of philosophies there: There’s you come in and scratch, overhaul, throw everything out because you have conviction that what was done before wasn’t working,” Smart said. “Then there’s you’ve got to win the players over because they may not see it as there was a problem. They may see it as they were completely happy with winning nine, 10 games a year, and that’s what I call complacency.”

It’s clear that’s the philosophy Smart decided to take.

“In our case, that was probably the greatest challenge was not accepting what had been done before as the norm and convincing the players that are currently on the team that we can do better,” Smart said. “We can do better things, and we can improve.”

Smart inherited a pretty veteran team, and indicated that over time he had to convince them that doing some things differently would ultimately pay off. He didn’t mention it Sunday, but in the past players have talked about the harder practices, lifting more weights during the season, and other minor tweaks.

“Sometimes that takes more work than just coming in where a team’s hungry, and more aggressive and listen to what you have to say,” Smart said.

You're right, Fromm has been shredding D's all year long. Slinging it all over the field. Has nothing left to prove.

I love reading Straw's posts....because whatever he says, typically the opposite happens.

He's the 8th rated QB in the nation as a true freshman. He's 4th in the nation is passing efficiency. He's one of, if not the best on passes over 20 yards having thrown 13 TDs and 0 ints. He's completing 64% of his passes and has led his team to an SEC title and an appearance in the national title? I'd say he's already proven it.

He doesn't have to throw for a thousand yards and 10 TDs a game.

Besides winning a national title game, what does he have to prove?

Disagree, the flame out rate for top prospects in baseball extremely high.

The last top rated QB and and MLB prospect, before Winston, I recall was Joe Mauer. Had a chance to play for FSU but decided to go to MLB.

He also would have a shot to come back to college football if it doesnt work out in a few years, but not the other way around as guys have a much harder time getting to MLB after college football. I doubt any team lets their star QB play both sports again like winston

That he can be trusted to consistently do more than 1 read heave it up to Wims anytime it's a passing down for starters.

Yeah, that's exactly what he's done all season. You're a complete and utter dipsh*t.

If you think that's all Jake Fromm did this year, you're a friggin' idiot, which you've already proven.
