Well if Bama players were artificially ranked too high then explain the success they’ve had for ten years?
Posted on 11/13/18 at 7:34 pm to labamafan
They should explain their conspiracies about Saban paying these overrated players.
Since they are getting the better talent why are we curb stomping these guys yearly?

They see how Bama coaches knew big Q was a 5 star.

What gives?
Saban and crew are significantly better talent evaluators than a group of fan boys who got a job "rating" kids and it takes them a few months to catch up to what Saban and crew knew months ago?

I guess you're saying that our players are overrated
Yet we continue to drub everybody and win title after title
I'm OK with that

Seems obvious to me what goes on with Bama bump.
The recruiting services know that they don’t evaluate players as well as the best programs do - so they don’t want to be embarrassed when Nick and his staff of 100 put their tag on a 3-star player.
Until Bama starts sucking, the Bama bump will continue.

Josh Jacobs was a 3* player in Oklahoma without offers from OU or OSU. Bama identified him, recruited him, and the other offers came in as did the star rating increase to a 4*. Look at what Jacobs is doing at Bama and tell he he didn't deserve the bump. That's just one example.

no one is saying their recruits are vastly overrated, simply that when recruiting services are given the chance, they seemingly boost Alabama recruits more than other programs... I don't think that has to be a malicious conspiracy... but it also doesn't make the "Bama Bump"® non-existent.
It's really easy to put all this shite to bed, if people just acknowledged a couple facts.
1. Recruiting services are businesses. They don't rank prospects out of the goodness of their heart or for love of the game, they do it to make money.
2. Big fanbases buy more subscriptions when they are ranked higher, giving services a monetary incentive to rank large fanbase prospects more highly. Never was this more clear than when Dot and the FSU clownshow ran Rivals rankings during their lost decade.
3. Especially with consolidation in the industry, services have an incentive to look "right" by forecasting major college and NFL stars. The easiest way to do that is by picking prospects from major NFL feeder programs.
4. Far more 4 and 5 star talent gets wasted rotting on a bench or playing for a brain dead retard HC than anyone ever wants to admit, meaning actual coaching matters a hell of a lot. It just so happens the best recruiting staffs are often some of the best developing ones as well.

Alfano is deserving for sure, that guy will be a monster for the Crimson in the near future.

Alfano is still underrated. Might be as good of a DL prospect as I've seen in 20 years coming out of HS.

Saban is the reason Bama has been so successful for the last ten years. He has had talent, sure, but he knows how to get the best out of his players, even those with lessor abilities. Saban would have been successful in any number of organizations over the last ten years.
