Triggering? :lol: ...not at all. Just speaking the facts. Spurrier was a great coach, but he left your program high and dry, because he didn't want his record as a coach to look any worse. Many SC fans hate him to this day...as they should. SC has never really recovered from his abandonment.

I agree. It wasn't the offense carrying those teams. It was Connor Shaw. He made things happen with grit and determination. He outsmarted opposing defenses. He made something out of nothing many times. As for the defense during those years, it was good, true. They had some good games, but never really shut the opposition down consistently. In the close games, if you take one of those defensive players away, the Gamecocks still win. If you take Connor Shaw away, the Gamecocks lose all the close ones. Shaw has my vote for the best QB the Gamecocks have ever had.

Connor Shaw was the main cog in those South Carolina teams during those years. Spurrier and Clowney get a lot of the limelight, but without Shaw, those years would have been subpar for the Gamecocks.
