I seem to remember hearing he had a "handler" early in the process...

They were most likely referring to the not-so-covert attempt to get him to transfer to R-ville. Fell through -- long story short is that Peaches is not his new daddy and Darren Woodruff had to find some other kid with which to be BFFs.

The kid's recruitment is clean, but when you're battling MSU for kids...

Brown might be a good pickup this late in the game. He could grow into a fullback. We will need another one when Prosch leaves. Brown cant be any worse than the 300lb FB we have now that gets pancaked by 220lb DEs.

Definitely. Good frame.

He isn't a FB. He isn't a DT. He isn't anything. Someone needs to hide his cookies and beat the shite out of this kid daily until he learns to play with an attitude.

it wouldn't make much sense for your OC to be recruiting a defensive player, would it?

Hence, why I asked.

I agree. I wasn't excited at all about him signing. Hoped he at least played with some fire, but he doesn't. The emoticon bunch were sprouting wood over his potential though.

I doubt he ever sees the field.

I say Chizik goes in and decides to pull a Nick Saban by processing his arse. He's a wasted spot, IYAM... I don't think I've ever seen a kid that big play so soft.

Personally I have no problem with it. It's a year to year thing and if you aren't performing why take up a scholly that could be used on someone better. That said, I'm a win at all costs kind of guy

Edit: Besides, most of them get some type of scholly or go to a different school. Either way they're getting a free education.

I'm not big on it. Mainly because there are no true tangible measures to base it on. People use the academic scholly as an example, but that student knows the boundaries of that scholly. The athletic scholly can vary off a number of things including the coaching staff signing someone better. That doesn't seem fair to me if the kid is showing up to practice and performing at his best. That is a coaching/evaluation error.

He was added because Howard was a pussy and went to Clemson. He needs to put out or get out (non-Sandusky).

I said from the very beginning, after I played Phillips in the playoffs his senior year, that he would never contribute in the SEC. Looks like I was right unless he makes a drastic change

But with an offer list like this how can he NOT be an all American next year?

Georgia Southern
Louisiana Tech
Murray State
Southern Illinois
Troy

One of those 2 star Tuberville specials.

(I realize Tubs didn't recruit him. Just sayin)

Hey gents know this is recruiting, but found this about Loeffler and Brady.

quote:

He stayed and he studied and he practiced, probably harder than most. In Loeffler, he had an accomplice. Loeffler had been a quarterback at Michigan before a shoulder injury ended his career, only to begin his new focus as a coach. Together, Loeffler and Brady worked diligently to learn their respective crafts.

"We'd come off the practice field (during the 1997 season), and Tommy would go back out there and work with Scot on all different things and run through the script we had done in practice," Griese said. "He worked his tail off. They learned from each other. Scot was figuring out how he was going to coach, and Tommy was learning from Scot. They both had the love of the details and the discipline of being a quarterback."

That attention to detail was at the foundation of Brady's eventual success.

not sure if Germans for others.
