You know it doesn't work that way.

I'm not trying to pull a TrollTyde up in TD.

Just focus on the fact that you have heard of almost no "plan B" guys even as late in the recruiting cycle as we are. Jordan Moore, who was evaluated extremely late and the coaches are very high on, and Brown, who Lefty likes and wants as a bigger back.

We'd rather end up with 20 or 21 commits and have room next year than fill up with non-contributors.

Now that I think about it, you're right. I also love the fact that, from everything I've read, we won't be signing 2 and 3 stars just to fill spots that we missed on. For example, LaDarius Phillips... I would guess we could roll those spots over to next year.

Still wish we never signed him. He's awful. There is no way he can improve enough for me to think otherwise. Reminds me of fricking Dax Dellenwhatever or Derek Winter. Should have saved the scholly for a back-counter.

I think with the new signing rules, our coaches will be really careful in handing out scholarships from here on out.

Didn't help that they were hell bent on keeping him on offense

I agree with this too. I always thought he should have been moved to the DL as soon as he stepped on campus.

And then I saw him get pancaked by a 220lb LB (total guess, but he had at least 50 lbs on the guy) for UF. And it all made sense of why he can't play that position.

ETA: Fairley played right at 300 or just shy of it... there's no fricking way he would ever be embarrassed like that
Or...
Sen'Derrick
Pat Sims
The Stump (Josh Thompson)
Clayton
Blanc
etc

I think people over exaggerate a few plays. He's not as soft as you're making him out to be. DJ Fluker had some pretty embarrassing plays early on but people don't really talk about them now.

If you can't do it, you can't do it. I'd be more than a bit surprised if he's on the field for a single game this year against an FBS opponent.

Probably because he had some good plays to go along with those embarrassing plays (not to mention he's been playing since a TF).

No common fan (even ones that follows recruiting, player personal, formations, etc) can count out the good plays LP has ever had.

We have to remember, he is also still going to be a redshirt soph. this upcoming season I believe. He is still young. So far, he has been a disappointment, but I have no problem with the staff giving him a scholarship, because with his size and athletic ability, he could still turn out to be really good. Hopefully he gets his head on straight and busts his tail this offseason.

Phillips cant play D. He is about 5'10. No way he can play Dline. Because he is fat is not a good reason to even try him there.
