7. Really happy about our QB and WR groups. Think we helped secondary too.
Really needed 2 or 3 big time LB's and a least 1 highly rated RB.

10 this is one of our highest ranked classes in a long time.

9 - Needed a big MLB (Foster) and whiffed on Kenzie Alexander.
Other than that, it's a great class.

10. considering our situation this was a home run class IMO

9- Would have liked to have gotten a true Safety in the class and maybe a RB. If one of the 2 QBs pan out, we will be talking about this class like we talk about the '01 or the '09 class....

I'd give it an 8. I felt like we had a very happy ending at A&M. Would have been a 9 if the lid to the jar hadn't got stuck.

9. Wanted Mackenzie Alexander - definitely needed some DBs, but it's hard to complain about our class after a tire fire in a dumpster season and the coaching turnover. Would have been nice to hold onto Bower too.

10.
We got a large, solid class. We picked up one late flip (Hall), and on the one we didn't, learned that if any of our future commits or possible commits are looking at Oregon, we'd do best to move on ourselves.
We kept a couple of schollys around for any early enrollees in 2014 (one of which will be for a greyshirt due to recent knee surgery).
We destabilized our former rival enough to flip the one 4* recruit they had that we wanted to us (RS-J), got their sole 5* to start looking around (and to end up at Bama) and two more of their 4*'s to flip.
We even managed to keep our new rival out (but only for this year; we know they're coming for us in 2014 and we're looking forward to the challenge).

Needed a JUCO LB to come in and play right away. Whiffed on a few prospects. Never got in the game w/ any of the top guys. This class will bear fruit but there may not be a single immediate impact guy among them.

Considering Auburn fired the entire staff at the end of the year and had to work quickly to hire Malzahn, and in turn - him hire a competent staff, I would rank the recruiting class around a 9 out of. Had Malzahn and staff been able to land Reuben Foster and Mackensie Alexander, it would have been an easy 10 out of 10.
Malzahn's first class finished 11th on ESPN.com, 8th on Rivals.com, 11th on 247Sports.com, and 13th on Scout.com. That is much better than Chizik's first class that he had to throw together in a short amount of time.
Keep in mind, Toby Johnson and Corn Elder are still on the board, and Auburn would take both of them.

Would have been a 10 if J.J. Gustafson wasn't hurt and Derrick Griffin had a prayer of qualifying.

9. 10 if Cutrer and/or Lawson would have done their damn classwork...or if we could have pulled Willis.

I'm with most Auburn fans and will give it a 9. Excellent class and hit some major needs but I would loved to have gotten Enzie Alexander and a badass linebacker in general.

7- I'm happy with the class. We did great at RB, WR and DL which were all needs.
Still would've liked to do better at LB and CB. And I don't like rating the class based on the situation.

7 we met our needs and got the best player from Mississippi

I'm seeing a few LSU fans name either a player or position they would have wanted in this class. From what I read we maxed out with this class. To add something or someone else we have to lose a signed player.
Who do you give up?
I wouldn't be willing to give up anyone we signed yesterday to bring in someone else.
LSU gets a BIG FAT 10 in my eyes.

I give Florida an 8 or 8.5. Very solid and deep class that fills needs, but UF could have used one more corner and one more DE and whiffed on two of them to close things out, losing both to rivals on the schedule.
Posted on 2/7/13 at 6:34 pm to BossierTigerFan24
A 9.5. Would have loved another four star DE.

8 - excellent class at QB, WR, and DT... needed better DE's. Hall is a stud, but needed some more. LB's underrated, no real star power. DB's range from excellent to some question marks
Felt we filled out the class too early, and lost out on some great talent like Maurice Smith, Alexander, and others because of it when we kicked arse this year.
