I think y'all have the lead. If OSU was closer he probably would have already committed.

It's an LSU/OM battle now

OSU is on the outside looking in

Tigers are a serious threat... O selling him on taking over for Guice in 2018.

If it was any other position than RB id say the rebels snag him at the last minute but LSU is the perfect school for a RB, ole miss not so much

It's a great situation to come into for him too. Taking over the starting job his sophomore year after Guice leaves.

If you start at RB for LSU you'll end up with 1,000 yards and a ticket to the NFL. Period

Objectively this is hard to disagree with right now. LSU has put a running back to the NFL it seems like every year while we have struggled at the position since Freeze took over. The one good thing we have right now is LSU does not have an OC so there's no guarantee the new OC won't want to come prove he can develop a QB and throw the ball 40 times/game. Stretching, I know, but we need this kid in the worst way. Add him to Patterson, our receivers, and the majority of our offensive line 2 deep returning and our offense could be really good. Defense will still suck, but that offense would compete with anyone.

I really hope he goes to Lsu just because it means we'll probably get CEH who also looks like a stud.

No you won't since CEH is the change of pace and recieving back that LSU is content with. If we offered Travis Etienne then I would think CEH is wavering but LSU is looking for Akers to be the battering Ram

Are you not describing the OM play calling to a tee here?

Throw it 35x/game, qb gets about 8-10 carries, and the primary back gets about 12 or so.

Yea. I believe if OSU wasn't far away and if they didn't have Dobbins, Akers would be a good bet to go north.

OSU would absolutely take him, but not sure it is going to work out

If the NCAA investigation weren't happening at Ole Miss, he'd have committed a year ago. I still think he ends up at Ole Miss though

I'm not so passive on Akers. Dobbins is fine, but we could really use a bigger back going into the future. If something were to happen to Mike Weber, Urban wouldn't have a power back other than the underwhelming Antonio Williams. As electrifying as McCall is, he's not the guy I want to give it to on 4th and 1.

Which is fine because I do not want to lose Dobbins.

I don't care what his decision is. A RB getting about 12 carries a game is going to have so little impact, as opposed to the other highly rated RB's you have/had, that it literally doesn't matter if he's at Ole Miss. Honestly I would rather he go there than to LSU where we will actually have to worry about him.

But for the kids sake, going to OM is objectively the worst decision he can make. If you can't see that then you are blinded by your red and blue glasses. Nothing at all against OM, your offense just is not built to take advantage of and display the RB position. WR or QB? Absolutely. But you're going to see only a marginal return on an upgrade at RB and he isn't going to be displayed there like he would be at another school.

Hugh Freeze hasn't had a great back to feature yet. We'll see how the offense adjusts to an elite talent if we sign Akers. People forget that Ole Miss was a majority running team for Hugh's first 2 years.

Hasn't he signed numerous 4* RB's since he's been there?

2, One of which was the starter coming into the year before being ruled academically ineligible, and the other tore his ACL on his first carry this season
