This guy is good, but he's no Fournette. I think he's probably a better fit in the Big 10, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if y'all got him.

What does that even mean? The SEC and the B1G are for sure the 2 most physical leagues in the country, and the B1G has some great RBs in college and the NFL right now (Elliott/Bell as the top 2 of course)

In the B1G you aren't required to bring it every week of conference play like the SEC. It's just different.

You do realize that Akers is ranked higher than 99% of the running backs that have come out in the last 10 years, right?

Not really. He grew up an OM fan, so if he goes out of state that's fine, we weren't getting him anyway. Helps that we have the state's other elite RB in Kylin Hill, and have generally picked MS clean at the RB position for the last few years.

People underestimate how much fandom impacts a lot of these kids. Generally speaking if they grow up a state fan, OM isn't legitimately in the race, and vise versa. We compete head to head over those kids who don't really have a hard core team, and a lot of kids give the appearance of being open to the other school when they really aren't.

We already have our instate RB committed. It certainly would have been nice, but we didn't have to have Akers. I like our guy.
