"generally"... It's few and far between for highly recruited athletes.
Yeah the majority of regular students who show up to school for engineering don't end up sticking with it. Freshman Chemistry / Calculus is a bitch. It's a fun thing for athletes to go to engineering schools saying that they're looking forward to getting a mechanical engineering degree but A) the vast majority can't hang (not their fault, no clue how the few that manage it pull it off on that schedule) and B) a significant portion of them are just saying that speculatively and it's not really a major part of their interest in the school regardless. At Vandy you had maybe a handful of athletes start out in engineering to some extent (mostly a watered down "Engineering Science" or "Engineering Management" degree that is mostly a business degree with some basic engineering fundamentals thrown in for HaHas), and by the time we were graduating it was maybe one or two who were still there and they were clearly not going to be professional athletes to any extent.
TLDR; an athlete RARELY genuinely goes to a school for something like engineering with the intent of actually following through with that, regardless of what interviews say.

Again, I didn't say or imply that I disagreed with your post:
What would be the implication of continuing to selectively bold text and reply with the same nonsense in response to me while ignoring the context of the entire post other than to voice some degree of disagreement with what I've posted.
I see you've moved to the semantic portion of your posting rituals.

No, if academics are actually important, LSU isn't even a conversation to be had. The academic reputation of the cajuns is pretty damned bad in every sense
This is a sports board but plenty of LSU alumni have successful careers in different fields.
Now if for a recruit winning Championships is important A&M should never be an option.

Yep LSU needs this guy, being the rb room is so thin.

LSU needs a RB, but let’s not pretend the stable is empty. Missing on Gibbs is not the end of the world.

LSU has a very solid engineering program.. Mechanical Chemical or Petroleum.
Very good accounting program
Forbes number 1 rated MBA program for cost relative to starting compensation for grads.
Having had a child go through LSU... one Auburn grad and one Bama. The LSU experience is superior. Very diverse in my house on holidays.

If UGA offers, it's game over.

Not saying you’re wrong, but the kid literally just said in an interview that he would not be interested in UGA if they offered at this point.
Of course people lie all the time, but he did say it.
I would guess LSU or UF for Gibbs.

He’s not even visiting UF?

I was just going to say that I heard Ohio State was in it for him. Did that not pan out?
I don't think we've been in it for Gibbs for quite awhile. I just wasn't sure if Vox had heard something more recent?

I cannot imagine how UGA could get into it at this point with the options this kid has. Even a die hard UGA fan would probably tell us to shove off knowing he was plan F.

OV's to Ohio State, LSU, and Ga Tech in that order for him.

That's what i was thinking. I don't even think our coaches have contacted him or tried to get in on it.
He looks good on film.

UGA is not going to offer though. If we go for another back it will be Edwards out of Georgia.

He would be my choice. Daijun, right?
Colquitt? Good sized kid.

I believe that's how you spell it.

I had heard UF was still in contention for a visit.
Ohio state seems pretty convinced he is unwilling to go too far from home.
I’d love to add him to our class but I’d put us a solid 3rd at this point.
