Everyone putting the crystal ball picks in for Alabama this morning.

He’s been commited to Ohio State for nearly 2 years. But a weekend official to Columbus didn’t solidify him. He’s continued to visit Tuscaloosa against Ohio State’s wishes.

Ohio State also may see the writing on the wall. They’ve offered Kentucky QB commit, Jarren Williams.

I don’t know what to think of this. On one hand I don’t want Ohio State to be stacked but on the other hand we have to play bama to get into the playoffs.

Not sold on Emory Jones... I think he's going to be a bit of a project. With another year of Hurts though, and Tua on campus, that's probably about right... he won't sniff the field his freshman year... will be a hell of a force on the scout team though... going against Bama's #1 defense in practice is a good trial by fire.

I actually think tOSU might get the better end of this deal if they land Williams. Kentucky definitely would be getting the shaft. Williams could transform their offense IMO.

I am just waiting for the annual Vince Marrow melt when UK loses a major commitment/target late in the process.

Jones looks like he has all the tools to me. Urban and Saban don't typically fight over scrub players. He's got good size, athletic and can run and has a cannon for an arm. At Bama he can redshirt and then learn for a year or two behind Hurts and Tua and be ready for the job by his RS Sophomore or Junior year. So it may be a perfect fit for both parties. Plus, stealing a QB from Urban is a beautiful thing. You know that just eats him up.

I dunno neither of these guys are likely going to have to play snaps for years if they go to OSU or Bama. OSU has Haskins/Burrow/Martell and Bama has Hurts/Tua for at least the next couple years. Plenty of time for Jones/Williams to get better and/or transfer. Who the heck knows what could happen

I think the bigger concern is his decision making, reading defenses, etc. If we're just picking QBs based on physical gifts, yeah... he's a really athletic QB. When I say project, I don't mean a guy that maybe works out by his senior year... I just don't think he comes in and contributes in any meaningful capacity early. The upside, as I mentioned, is at Bama, he shouldn't need to.

It wouldn’t be the worst thing to develop for 4 years and be a first time starter as a senior like Blake Sims. Though Jones could do so by his junior season based on the eligibility for Hurts and Tagovailoa.

It wouldn't be, but it's also unlikely he'd last on the roster that long... either by personal choice or at the recommendation of his coaches... RSSoph/Junior season would be the target for him probably barring something crazy happening. Just a guess... He could of course surprise everyone and light it up when he gets there... recruiting is far less science than it is art. Ratings are great and all... but gotta see what happens once they arrive.

Imagine if Bama had a real QB. Fortunately, Bama is where QBs NFL dreams go to die.

Do people not realize the colleges don't give a flying frick about the NFL.

We just got a commitment from a Dual Threat QB ourselves and would love to see that dynamic that Hurts brings to Bama on our own team.

^This.

Fields is going to be a beast, better than any starting dual threat right now not named Lamar Jackson.

Field isn't a glorified running back like Hurts though.

I doubt Fields will ever start a game for Georgia, unless Fromm gets hurt.

The Georgia QB job is Fromm's until he graduates. Doubt Fields sticks around that long.
