Has he even visited Georgia? This is pretty fricking shocking.
Yeah... twice. Actually, a lot of Bama fans were kind of surprised to get his commitment. I heard rumblings that somehow there was a connection to a staffer/employee at UGA... I dunno the details or whether it was real or not, but I remember reading something about it.

You'll notice... that other than some mostly joking comments, the only idiots on the boards proclaiming UGA surpassing Bama or Kirby somehow surpassing Saban are not UGA fans... it's almost like it could have been predicted.

Saban said on his presser which was shown on sec network y'all were losing at least 5 guys I'm sure y'all will be in on some of the last guys left leave Goodrich and Surtain along if you don't mind

They'll come back down to Earth eventually. Well... maybe.
It's their moment so let them live it.

Keep melting at the thought of another SEC team passing by LSU.

No idea if it's true but word is we didn't send him a letter of intent to sign because we are not sure he's going to qualify, can't waste any spots this year with numbers so low, were wanting him to sign in February so we could get a better idea of his academics. I guess Georgia can take the numbers risk, or they just wanted to get a flip from Alabama

Kid had bad grades and can apparently barely read. He won’t get into a college without some serious shenanigans.

Discussion of this going on our recruiting thread right now... it's pretty easy to look at if you take the team bias out of the equation... this isn't a shite on Bama comment or ha-ha we got one... When Bama got the commitment from Jobe, it gave them more flexibility at the position, feeling like they have potential with both Campbell and ITS, it gave them some room to feel like they could ask him to wait. Couple that with the fact that they already took a risk with Barmore earlier who may have his own issues with qualifying to get in and it becomes a bit of risk management. At present, UGA's class didn't have any signees that I'm aware of that were qualification risks, so we had room and a more pressing need for a high caliber CB.
At the end of the day, teams are adjusting to the rule changes. 25/year hard cap means different decisions might be made this year and going forward than what we've seen in years past. Bama *wanted* Joseph, but potentially not enough to accept his LOI early. UGA *needed* at least one top CB, and had a risk profile that would allow it.
As to the comments about the kid having bad grades and can't read, the article that that came from even indicates that in the last year and a half or so, he's made significant strides... Malcolm Mitchell came to UGA on an elementary school reading level, joined a ladies book club, and now is an author and NFL player... shitting on a kid for struggling in school is ridiculous. Quite literally every fanbase on this board has accepted kids to their program that wouldn't get in otherwise and probably would fail out in the first semester if it weren't for the level of support they get for being in the athletic program.
