Yeah, but I can't really count them. Linemen are different than skill guys. Generally, the RBs and WRs don't get that much bigger or faster with age. I think it takes the OLs and DLs a year or two in the S&C program before their bodies are really prepared to do battle in the trenches, especially in the SEC. It's just difficult for an 18 year old kid fresh out of high school to physically match up with a 5th year senior who was a 4 or 5-star himself and has been lifting and eating properly for 4 years.

Absolutely, LSU was fortunate with Campbell and Jones, the way they made their transition but as you said they’ll likely need some time before battling in those SEC trenches.

Leading rushers for A&M under Jimbo:
2022: Achane - 1102
2021: Spiller - 1011
2020: Spiller - 1036
2019: Spiller - 946
2018: Williams - 1760
So over the last 5 years our starting RB has averaged 1171 yards per season. You could say that about WR or QB under him but RB’s have put up numbers. Props to Tommie Robinson as well.

Overton is a freak of nature. Kid should have been playing his senior year this year

You'll get a Luke Joeckel or Myles Garrett every now and again, but, for the most part, freshman linemen aren't physically prepared to do battle at the D1 level.

Robinson is a really good rb coach. I never got why lsu dropped him for an inexperienced kevin faulk. Shite was dumb.

You know what, solid stuff brother. Agree on that, thanks for the insight/education there. Spiller was solid too

The last two starting RBs from TAMU, Trayveon Williams and Isaiah Spiller, are both in the NFL right now with Achane soon to follow. Say what you will about Jimbo, but he's putting RBs in the league.

Just saw Owens' high school stats. 601 carries for 7,089 yards and 101 TDs. That's 11.8 YPC and a TD on every 6th touch.

Easy to understand since Jimbo is suppose to be great at developing QBs and since that has not happened the RBs at a&m have had to carry the load.

To be fair, I don’t think he’s entirely wrong. His massive NIL deal was with Adidas. Needed to go to an Adidas school. But obviously that’s not the only reason he chose A&M. I’m sure seeing Achane’s numbers this year doesn’t hurt anything.
