Four-star offensive tackle Wilkin Formby, a Top100 prospect from Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge, will announce his college commitment on June 20, he announced Wednesday. The finalists are Alabama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
He’s from Tuscaloosa and an Alabama legacy. He’s also coming off an Alabama official visit. But all predictions are to Ole Miss. Any scuttlebutt among fans of his finalists?

All-American offensive lineman Wilkin Formby is staying home and will play for Alabama. The Top100 tackle from Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide on Monday evening, becoming pledge No. 5 for UA. The hometown standout chose Alabama over Ole Miss and Oklahoma, among a long list of others. He’s the first offensive lineman to join the class.

Not to disparage the young man or OM, but is he not a take for Bama? Or is he trying to make his own path?

Our OL coach has been killing it. We were his first offer and he’s been to Oxford a significant amount more than any other college. He took his official to ole miss in April

Alabama’s new OL coach seems to like him. But I don’t know if he’s a take or not.

I would imagine he isn’t a take for y’all. We will take him happily though

Amazing that a top 100 player that is a legacy isn't a take for Bama

This kid and brycen sanders are probably playing for Ole Miss next year with all the linemen we lose. Feel like he would sit for 3/4 years at Alabama.

Is his Bama offer commit-able?

If this is true it makes a lot of sense. I’m sure if bama agrees to take him he will flip from OM to Bama

Maybe, maybe not. Certainly wouldn't be the first kid to want to chart his own path separate from his dad/parents. His dream school could easily be Bama, but he may also just want to get out of his home town for college and make a name for himself somewhere else.

Formby is one of two OL in Alabama this cycle that are Alabama legacies. Stanton Ramil is the other. Both look like solid OL prospects. Just not day one SEC guys.

He has offers from just about anyone. Would be a huge get regardless

Mauigoa and Proctor currently. Have also recruited Alinen pretty hard it seems like. I think McVay is on a visit today.

Well done Bama. Surprised we were even in the running for a legacy.
