Yeah, that was my first thought reading that, a LB wanting to be a WR means diddly as far as his ability to play the position goes.

Hmm.. Lol

Fortt would've probably had a difficult time learning the defense in that brief of a period if he'd come in anyway, so I'm not sure how much he would have contributed. Plus he would take away reps from the younger guys who desperately need them this season.

Holland apparently still has a lot of trouble getting people lined up and struggles with basic assignments. Not sure what's going on there.

My point is that holland has just as much experience as cass right now in this BVG scheme... Cass is bigger and most likely faster and stronger...

Racist....

Go back and watch a few games from last year. Holland missed so many tackles and bad angles. I wasn't impressed. Maybe his injuries had something to do with that, maybe not. But he was never consistent at having good games... quite the contrary actually.

Absolutely, I'm not sure what a bum ankle and wriste have to do with constantly being out of place. I was also not impressed with Craig Sanders I had high hopes for him being one of the strongest and craziest players on the team, but he struggled shedding blocks and getting in the backfield.

I realize you guys don't want Holland, but remember, Fairley got dog whipped most plays his first year playing. Now, Holland hasn't been getting rave reviews, but there was so much wrong with our D last year it's hard to say he just sucks.

I think Holland will be Ok. Us picking up Foster is going to get his arse in gear

Yeah... I know... someone responded back to me a couple posts down saying the exact same thing.

Why do people not read the whole thread before responding?

And from the comments from Thigpen and BVG, it's obvious Roof didn't teach the LBs shite in his time here.

I saw that. BVG pretty mich said you've got Bates, and two spots open. If you can't make the right reads (Holland), we'll put someone in who can make plays.

I don't think it was just the linebackers...

It was interesting to hear all of the defensive players commenting on how they never had to learn plays last year. They basically said there was no playbook for the defense, they were just playing read and react. I think given all of the youth on defense, especially in the secondary, that actually having an actual system will benefit them. The skill and aptitude to read and react isn't just there with everyone especially younger players.

He will be a back up sooner rather than later, IMO. I think McKinzy takes the job from him at some point fairly early in the season.

Why do people make a big deal over nothing? I missed that someone responded why take the time to respond with a jackass response? Why not ignore it and move on?

Now moving on...I agree that Roof didn't teach much but that was very evident by the way those guys were playing. It always looked like they were just trying to hit someone rather than wrap up. That was very frustrating to watch.

Based on vangorder's comments yesterday, it sure seems like that is a possibility

He said even if one guy is more experienced, if they are still having problems with stuff like lining guys up and just overall understanding the defense and we were going to live with errors at that position anyway, might as well play the most talented guy

This was when he was talking about the LBs

Looks like AU offered Jacob Park yesterday 2014 QB. He visited in June and liked it, but I think we're still pretty far back on his list.

Just based on his Freshman highlights he has nice size good mobility a strong arm and can throw on the move

It sounds like AU and UGA are the leaders for Park from the 24/7 article.

Probably because sometime there are 60 posts or more between the time someone last checked the thread and the current time.

Just for funsies, who is our next commit?
