Of course, but it seems like Saban sells the JACK linebacker more than anything else. I said it was successful and didn't need to be changed so I don't know what the frick Robot Santa is talking about saying I'm crying on the LSU recruiting board. I wasn't the only one saying it to start with. It is what it is and works.

And another thing, if schools are going to negatively recruit against us over what we haven't produced in the past, aka a black starting QB, then they can't get pissed if we tout what we have had.

I see your point, but the truth of the matter is that Saban is still, after 6 years, trying to get a prototypical Jack. It works because we've yet to land that all-star guy at the position, so every recruit we pitch it to thinks they can be "The One."

Why would he not sell the most exciting position on D to the best Defensive players in the country?

Opposing fans think it's bad now, let one of these guys produce on a DeMarcus Ware type level and it will really be bad.

Why are you asking me? I said it works so he should keep doing it.

Just for TTs benefit, I think Saban and company should start selling OJ on the idea of playing both ways. He could be our version of both the super stud Jack and Hernandez TE. If it is working they could also explain how her could be drafted twice, once as a Jack and once as a TE and keep both signing bonuses.

Care to offer any evidence? Sounds like you are sitting in on all the coaches meetings where Saban details how he plans on recruiting kids for positions he doesn't want them at.

For example, Dee Liner. You know he won't stay small enough to be a JACK linebacker. He would end up a defensive end in the 34 defense. But that doesn't stop Saban from selling him what he wants to hear.
Would he? What if he doesn't put on weight easily and stays around 270? Let's hear it Nostradumbass.

That's why we see them getting so many good prospects on the defensive line (that "grew out of" JACK linebacker) and so many linebackers every year. It's borderline crazy that some believe what they hear."
I'm sure the only reason Bama recruits the front 7 so well is because of all these stupid recruits who believe the lies Saban whispers in their ears. It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that we have put half a dozen linebackers and linemen in the NFL the last 3 years.
All in all a pretty typical post from you when it comes to recruiting.

I remember himsaying he could go to Alabama and be another Groves. He instantly became on of my favorites

Don't get me started on Patriot players being compared to potential recruits by college coaches.
We lost out on fricking Hackenberg
He used the same pitch on Brennaman being the next Gronkowski/Hernandez at the TE position.

I stopped reading here. It's hilarious that people can't have a decent conversation without this shite.

There it is. My fellow Columbusian (what the frick are we?) coming through with the knowledge.

I had no clue who he was, and he owned me in a pick up game at the rec. I had probably 20 lbs and 3 inches on him, and he moved me like I was nothing. Dunked over me. Chris Jordan was playing too, and he looked like he could have played div 2 guard. Upshaw was just all strength, not a whole lot of skill.

What an awesome picture.

I sure hope you will be able to get over the Hackenberg fixation. Maybe all it will take is for Bateman to win two NC's at Alabama before becoming a first round draft choice 4 or 5 years from now.

Maybe you were right and I was wrong. Hopefully, I didnt take away from any of your "valued" QB evals

He's gonna be a first rounder. Better than Upshaw.
