Well that sucks about Glass. There were rumblings that if we offered he was ours, but we didn't offer during his visit. Oh well.

Has any team ever grabbed 3 of the top 10 recruits in one given class? I think USC may have in 2007 seeing as they got the top 2 players in the country (Everson Griffin and Joe McKnight) but I'm not positive.

Landing Allen would be sick. I just hope we get all 3, not to mention Montravious Adams (#8 in the country) lists us as a favorite.

Glass is 2014, I should have mentioned that earlier.

Despite holding commitments from two running backs in the 2013 class, the University of Alabama made steps to add another, offering four-star Florida running back Ryan Green Tuesday night.

Ryan's father, Vader Green, took time Wednesday to talk with Tidesports.com about his son's recruiting process, as well as where the talented prospect will go from here.

"He was excited," Vader said about the Alabama offer. "Ryan really doesn't show much emotion. He is a very humble kid, so he doesn't let anything get to his head. He is just going to evaluate the schools."

Although Alabama currently holds two running backs in the 2013 class, Vader said his son is not one to shy away from competition.

"I can tell you this, Ryan is a competitor," Vader said. "He doesn't mind competing. He is a three-sport guy, he's not just a football player, he's an athlete. He's not looking for anybody to give him anything."

With 27 scholarship offers, Ryan has plenty of options. However, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound speedster will wait until after his high school track season before deciding on which schools will make the cut.

"After spring football, we are going to narrow that list down to at least 10 so he can kind of go from there," Vader said. "He doesn't really have any favorites, everyone knows he likes Notre Dame, Florida, Florida State and Miami as well. What we are going to do is narrow it down so he can focus on the schools he is interested in and go from there."

Vader said, despite being from Florida, his son would have no problem leaving the state if the right opportunity presents itself at another school.

"Not at all," Vader said. "If he feels that leaving the state is best for him physically, mentally and socially that will be his call. He does not have a problem leaving the state of Florida

Vader talked with Alabama defensive line coach Chris Rumph, who is in charge of Ryan's recruitment and said the coach told him Alabama was highly impressed with the young running back.

"I talked to Chris Rumph myself, and Alabama absolutely loves him," Vader said. "His quickness, his speed and his explosiveness, they loved it. They think he is a guy they can really use and be a game-changer for them."

Alabama's last two featured running backs have presented more of a physical game, while Ryan presents more of an elusive, speedy attack. Regardless, Vader said he sees his son fitting well into the Alabama system.

"I think he will," Vader said. "Alabama is known for its fast style of football. Ryan is just a guy that can run between tackles and he can make highlights. When he hits a whole or a crease, you ain't gonna catch him."

Vader said he and his son plan to be in Gainesville, Fla., on Saturday for Florida's Blue and Orange game, and then the two plan to attend Florida State's Garnet and Gold game the following weekend. Vader said the two will also visit a number of schools, including Alabama, during the summer.

FSU had 3 in 2011 & 2002, UF had 3 in 2010, USC had 3 in 2007 & 2005.

Bama came close in 2009 with Dre at #11 and Trent and DJ in the top 10.

So what you are saying is that Alabama is the only team to parlay their recruiting success into national championships right?

I think Florida had 2 in the top 10 a year or two around their NC years.

But for the most part, yes...

Damn I hope we land Bateman. I really don't want Conner Mitch.

Since we are all self proclaimed recruiting afficianados what star rating would you give 2014 QB EJ Moss?

I asked Bone this tonight and he didn't answer.

I would guess high 4-star.

Both LSU and Bama had 2 in the top ten in 2009.

We had Randle and Shepard.
