Yah I know Mag, number change means commitment
Also means coaches feel A LOT better about depth at DL

From TOS:

quote:
*** Impressions of the early enrollers: Ryan Anderson's physical development doesn't say "I'm a freshman." The guy is put together like a second- or third-year college player.
... T.J. Yeldon stands out among the running backs for his taller, longer build. With Lacy out, it will be a battle among the backs for reps this spring.
... Alphonse Taylor, whom the players call "Shank", is simply huge. Doesn't look out of shape, but he and (Jesse) Williams are pretty clearly the biggest two out there among the DLs.
... Saw Dillon Lee make a nice grab during individual drills when linebackers were practicing breaking on the ball for interceptions.
... Chris Black is quick as a hiccup. He's small and will need to learn good technique to get off the jam at his size, but the guy looks like he could be a real threat on screens, hitches and the like.

No surprise, 2013 TE Adam "The next Gronkowski/Hernandez" Breneman commits to PSU. He and a QB prospect that shall not be named apparently have formed a pretty good bond.

Hey, Bama was "in it"
I was gonna cut it with info about a Mississippi QB that is receiving interest from Bama, but he is unlikely to land an offer.

Eh, I had to play the angle that we get everyone that we want and everyone is a silent commit to us
Posted on 3/9/12 at 7:22 pm to chilld28
He must not have had a committable offer from Bama.
Better?

Saban said Deion Belue had a strong first day of practice and looks like a good learner. ... Said Cyrus Kouandjio has made a strong recovery from the knee injury, and that Barrett Jones to center "is not an experiment. That experimentation was done last year. He'll do a good job." ... Interesting quote from Michael Williams on Brandon Lewis: "He's lost about 30 pounds. He actually weighs less than me. He weighs about 265. Once you get the weight off, it's about knowing how to move. That's what he's trying to learn to do. He's getting his blocking down, and his receiving is already up there more than we thought." ... Nico Johnson said the team leadership is determined not to have a repeat of 2010, and admitted that that 2010 squad "was still thriving off the '09 year." Said himself, Robert Lester and Damion Square are among the defensive players beginning to take bigger leadership roles.

Does Robert Lester qualify as the best "friend of a great player" signing in recent memory?

I'm inclined to think so. I've been very crucial about his play the last 2 years, but he's still a solid starter on the National Champions.

After watching the spring practice video and looking at the pics on BOL I must say that Chris Black looks much bigger, not taller, than I thought. He looks thick enough to play right now.
TJ Yeldon is a man child. Damn glad we got him.
Alphonse Taylor looks like a beast.
It appeared in the video that Milliner and Fulton were "covering" each other. Could possibly mean Fulton is on the verge of a starting job.
Speaking of cornerbacks, I didn't know we had any white dudes at that position, let alone two.

I would
also a little birdie told me Saban has a new favorite player on the team, JuCo CB who came in immediately cramming on all the film he could get, let's just say Saban & staff aren't "Belue" about secondary depth this year
Also told me Alphonse is A LOT more along technique wise than everybody thought he would be (expecting him to be very raw) not at all the case, I was told to expect to hear his name a lot once Spring resumes after SB
One more, Dillon Lee has blown everybody away, all the coaches & players are shocked by how much of the playbook he already has a grasp of and how athletic he is. Even talk among the players that he has progressed since on campus faster than either Trey or Mosley did, and the same type of skill set as Mosley, a lot more fluid in coverage like he is, gonna be a good 'un
Also verified that the DL is ridiculously talented depth, a lot of guys who would start anywhere else are 2nd stringers on this team
