Cam Toney after his Vols visit:
quote:
"Tennessee is on my favorite list and I would love to take an official visit up here in the future," Toney said. "I like Auburn a lot and Missippi State. That's kind of my top three."

Isn't this the guy who has his room decked out in Alabama stuff?

Supposedly, although I've seen that pic for several other players too.
When he came out and said he would wait until NSD to commit, I knew he chances of being at Bama dropped. Especially considering he had Bama as a huge leader and was on the verge of a commitment only a few months back.

I told you guys that he waited too long. Im thinking that the coaches offered him because he was a decent player and a big fan. The reason I believe this because in a article i read he said one of his coaches told him to go ahead and make a choice or he wouldnt get to go where he really wanted to go.

the longer toney waits, the better it is for everybody else (especially AU)... but I still feel like he'll end up in tuscaloosa.
I'm hoping this goes down like chris landrum's recruitment from a couple years ago... in-state LB and bama fan who slips through the cracks and ends up at auburn.

Meh. I wasn't high on Ryan Burns anyway. See page 149 or 150 for my thoughts on him. He breakdances in the pocket. He does have good size though.

Hate it for him, but CT needed to commit a while back to have a spot at Bama.

I just watched the only film on Brayden Scott I could find. It was a camp video, not game film. He looked much smaller than his 24/7 listed size of 6'3" 220lbs. He did, however, have good mechanics. It was hard to judge his arm because most throws were lobs over the top. He did have good touch though. He wouldn't be a bad option, but I like Austin Allen more, by a lot.

Forgive me if this has been posted. I did search the topic and didn't see anything. Have you guys read the report about Reuben Foster changing High Schools this year?
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Troup County (LaGrange, Ga.) junior linebacker Reuben Foster, who's one of the nation's top recruits in the Class of 2013, plans on transferring due to the recent firing of his head coach, Charles Flowers.
“I’m definitely gone, I’m leaving, I’m out of here,” Foster told the AJC. “Coach Flowers has changed my life. He’s like a father figure. It’s just not right with what happened.”

Yea Toney waited too late and now coaches have found elite guys who can play the same position as he can.

He says he wants out. If he is able to transfer out it will be interesting to see where he ends up. The UGA guys seem to think he'll stay at Troup or go to Newnan where Tray Matthews is. Last week there was a rumor about him maybe going to Handley and playing with Bradley Bozeman. The latest rumors said that he stopped by Oxford to check out the school before going to the b-ball game earlier this week. Apparently he liked Oxford and there may be a chance he and his family could move there. This would make it incredibly difficult for UGA to flip him.

OJ Howard ran a 4.6 at the Nike SPARQ combine in Mobile today. He also measured in at 6'6" 224 lbs.

That's skinny for a TE. He's going to need to get on the Fluker diet for a while.

He posted a 104.22 Total Sparq, best at the combine and was invited to participate in The Opening in Oregon. He's gonna be a good one.
Funniest part about it was he was disappointed because he came in wanting a 105.

Tide Saint this is for you. Cooper Bateman quotes.
quote:
“These days almost everything is done through Facebook, since they treat it like an email. It’s pretty easy and pretty convenient. That’s how they did it- Coach Nussmeier got in touch with me on Facebook,” said Bateman.
“He’s the one who reached out to me once he was at Alabama. He said he kind of brought my name with him. I’ve talked with him a couple of times and after about a week of us communicating back and forth, I got on the phone with Nick Saban and he’s the one that actually extended an offer to me.”
The conversation with Saban left an indelible mark on Bateman.
“That was big. I’ve talked to a lot of coaches throughout this entire process, but nothing’s been as big as that. I was nervous the entire time we were on the phone knowing who was on the other line. It was crazy. We had a nice conversation. He just told me about what Alabama have in store. Aside from football, he told me about the school, academics-wise and things they do in the program.”
quote:
“If all goes as planned, I’ll be going down there this April to see what they have in store. We’d like to see spring ball if we could, so hopefully that works out. I really don’t know any specifics on what they’re trying to do on offense, but when you think about Alabama, you think about national championships and the guys the put on the next level. That’s huge, I mean like no place else. That stands out when you think about them.
“They’re close enough- if things go to plan, we would like to see Florida, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. They’re all close enough. We really want to see what they all have in store. “
quote:
“We’re going to follow the same trend of committing before my senior season. Right now you’re seeing guys like Ryan Burns who just committed to Stanford. It’s a benefit to my team and everyone around me to have no more distractions going into my senior season. Hopefully, I’ll have a decision made by May or June and have something I feel comfortable with and I have no doubt that I will.
“Right now, I’m holding them all even. I’m not to the point where I’m crossing anyone off the list or holding anyone higher than the next one. Everything is even at this point.”
Though it’s not a deal breaker, Bateman would ideally like to play in a pro-style offense at the next level and is open to venturing far away from home.
“At Cottonwood, we run a no huddle spread offense with four-wide. I’m open for anything in college. I’d be fine running the same offense, but if I could choose, I’d classify myself as a pro-style quarterback. That’s where I’d like to be in college if I could- under center. But that’s not going to be a deciding factor or anything.
“Playing in front of a hometown or in-state crowd would be fun, having your friends and family be able to see you, but my parents say they’re behind me 100% wherever I want to go and will be there week in and week out whether I’m playing in-state or Florida which is as far away as I could go.”
