Harsin is either going to be one of the best hires ever starting in year 3 or he and Al (let's stay together Greene)
will be sharing a Penske Truck out of Lee County in 2023.

AU has better talent coming back next year. Their best player on D missed most of the season due to injury. Mason's D improved late in the year, but his schemes almost cost AU the GSU game and imploded against UGA and MSU. After the MSU game I didn't think he would make it until the end of the season.

I agree. Just from an outside perspective, Harsin seems to be tearing this program down and starting over.

As with any coach, whether that will be a good thing or not remains to be seen.

He's either going to set them up really nicely going forward, or create a massive rebuild for someone else if it doesn't (eventually) work.

Exactly. I had been hoping it was the former and now I'm leaning toward the latter.

Yeah we’re all in with Harsin. Not necessarily a vote of confidence, but we are way down the rabbit hole now so we don’t have a choice. I believe in what he wants to do, and I think it’s likely the case that it requires a tear down/rebuild, but whether he has the ability to implement it and whether it works in the Deep South are open questions.

If Mason holds Bama for 2 more minutes, then today he is receiving a contract upgrade instead of the shaft.

Mason was an affirmative action hire at Vanderbilt AND Auburn.

I wonder who else will need some ‘equity feels’ next.

Yeah I didn’t necessarily think it was talent related though I didn’t know the depth chart when I said it. If a coach leaves kinda late like Mason, I think he was looking for an exit strategy and it took awhile to materialize for him.

My guess Harsin gave him a direct “find another opportunity” or a bad vibe otherwise. Feel like Harsin ought to been able to hire his potato posse from the outset instead of all these hires that seemingly were about appeasing monied interest’s concerns about his recruiting reach. You hire a program with a new coach. Let the man implement his program.

I think this pretty much sums it up. And I think our 2023 recruiting class will let us know which way it is going to go. If that class isn't top ten or so with good offensive talent then he's probably gonna be gone with the quickness. He has very little margin for error since he wasn't picked by the money guys.

Obviously moonshine, and plenty of it. They tried McDonald's, but that didn't work out.

We are going to suck in football for the foreseeable future and maybe beyond.

Thank god for Bruce Pearl.
