Harsin is either going to be one of the best hires ever starting in year 3 or he and Al (let's stay together Greene) will be sharing a Penske Truck out of Lee County in 2023.
He’s clearly doing things his way. That’s awesome….

Mason got way more love as Auburn's DC than he deserved. We were shite on defense when it actually mattered.

What he allowed Mississippi Stat to do should've had him fired that evening

Yeah we’re all in with Harsin.

Maybe from not having a choice but to stick with him at the moment. But, from a support perspective, not even close. I think he has started to lose a lot of the fans and the largest problem is that I firmly believe he has never had the support of a good portion of the PTB at Auburn. That is a problem.

I’ve been concerned for him as an outsider. Felt like some of his original staff choices were not entirely his own. Likely he was trying to appease some concerns and Auburn had a bit more leverage over him than most successful coaches at the point of hiring. Boise State has a lot of financial problems and he was looking to jump. Seems like he made some concessions to find a landing spot that was solvent.

I thought the same about Mason most of last season but some of your folks praised him endlessly and laid 100% of the blame on offense. Those GSU/UGA/MSU games were terrible yet the Iron Bowl was top notch.

Personally the Schmedling guy may do fine and if Harsin trusts him and they get along then that's a plus.

I wasn't a Mason fan early and he only redeemed himself with the Bama Game. I thought he was going to get fired after the GSU game and the MSU performance only sealed that belief. I didn't have a problem with him staying another year, but then I started seeing all the young defensive players transferring due to lack of playing time. The threw up some caution flags. We will see what happens from here.

If Mason holds Bama for 2 more minutes, then today he is receiving a contract upgrade instead of the shaft.

I agree, that is the world of College Football.

Yall lost good players on defense and it was said it was because they didn’t fit Mason’s scheme. Now he’s gone and the new guy better be willing to run Masons scheme with the players on the roster or shite will get ugly.

Most of the Defense is back next year and they also have the two LBs back who missed most of the year due to injuries. The got some good Defensive players in the portal also. That is why I thought Mason would try and stick around one more year and then parlay it into another job.

Sorry if already mentioned, but any AU folks know what caused this? I’ve always liked Mason and he seemed to do a pretty good job for y’all this past season.

Was he fired/pushed out or chose to leave on his own?
