Kevin Faulk > Darren McFadden, so are Bo and Hershel.
Dmac is probably the 4th best SEC runningback of all time though.

If you're gonna put Musso up there, you may as well add Casanova - a 3-time All-America at a time when freshmen were ineligible.

The top two college careers in Tennessee history (modern era) are probably Peyton Manning and Eric Berry. Reggie White's college career was much worse than both.

Any list has to include Billy Cannon. And Archie Manning was the best college QB I ever saw. If any two players could take over a game those two could.

Four Heisman winners and a guy who would have won had he not broken his arm during his senior year.

True, but would you put him in a list with Jackson, Walker, Tittle, Tebow

Why wouldn't you put Newton with Tebow? Tebow was a great player... surrounded by SEC all-stars and future NFL players. Tebow's "legend" had a LOT of help in the making. Newton's? Not so much.

Didn't read the entire board.. I agree with Bo and Hershel, but what about Emmitt Smith as one of the top RBs? The Manning boys and Bert Jones for QBs? Hell, there are so damn many greats-- almost impossible to narrow done to 5.

Arkansas fans, I've neer seen a fanbass with a more in warranted sense of self worth than y'all. D-MAC in top 5 all- time sec players? Yes i realize it's a list of our own opinions but damn.

A lack of perspective.

The history of the SEC isn't filled with guys who won multiple Doak Walkers, finished as runner up in the Heisman Trophy *twice*, who won 2 Jim Brown Awards, rank second in career rushing yards and all purpose yards, and who hold the SEC single game record for rushing yardage.

Making Houston Nutt look like anything other than a monkey fornicating with a football in bad lighting for even a millisecond is just icing on the cake.

Lack of perspective my arse. No serious discussion of the Top 5 can not include McFadden in the conversation at the very least.

Berry is the recent guy on the defensive side of the ball who jumps out at me. Didn't he leave early, and still win two Tatum awards and the Thorpe?

I was born in '70 so I'm going back to roughly '80-'81. No Namath Stabler or Cannon.

Bo
Herschel
Timmay
Berry
Manning

If Tyrann Mathieu actually keeps up his current pace of creating turnovers, he's gonna go down as the greatest defensive player in college football history.

I hope everyone putting Tebow above Newton is doing so only bc Tebow played for 3 years compared to Newton's one not bc they actually think Tebow was a better or more dominant player. To me a "top 5" implies if you were picking a team right now these are the top 5 players you would take. Anyone who would take Emmitt Smith over Dmac or Tebow over Newton is either a Florida fan or just doesn't know FB
