Give it 3-5 years he'll probably resurface as a OC at a small school or maybe the CFL or Arena League

He's got as much money as he needs, if he doesn't spend it all on legal fees going forward. Best estimate on his settlement is $8MM and that on top of big money over the past 9 years.

The guy is a high school legend coach in the state bet he ends up at another one in West Texas.

The Baylor bubble is the most clique group University supporters I've ever met. You have no idea how many of my friends/pledge bros that I've talked to truly think that UT/A&M/TCU are the ones who brought along this shite storm.

I hear you. My daughter in law is a Baylor alum. Little bubble, most are clueless about what goes on outside Waco. Too much success too fast, weren't prepared to handle it.

I know Briles and his family casually. You just knew something like this would happen eventually. First met him when he was HC at UH. They were all afraid he'd be fired that year because the AD couldn't stand him. Ended up with a good year and got an extension before jumping to BU. I never followed Houston but did read fairly recently that there were player problems there as well.

I'll bet he's the head coach for Baylor for the beginning of the 2017 season.

That ship has sailed. Baylor people think he'll be offered the UT or LSU jobs after Strong and Miles are done, when/if that happens.

Art Briles' next gig?

Posted by XKEnut on 6/18/16 at 5:50 am
So where does Briles coach next, if at all? He's 60, never lived outside Texas, but obviously can still ball. Is he too toxic in today's college environment or will he be given another shot? Serious question.

He'd have to lay low for a while before he could ever set foot in another major program IMO. I can't see anybody wanting to touch him now.

Briles will be paying defense lawyers for a long time, remember he was named personally in the lawsuit filed by one rape victim last month. I would imagine there will be more since that dude raped at least 6 before going to prison.

Kendall Briles was selling condos in Houston before Art got the Baylor gig. Young, very little experience and a nobody without Daddy.

It's a sorry family, I know them all, Briles and his wife, Kendall and daughters. A really sorry, low class bunch of people.
Well yeah, there was the murder cover up.
Rape case filed by victim of BU football player in Federal Court. Briles, the AD, and Board of Regents named in the suit. Think this will be quietly settled like the other one a couple of months ago or does it go to trial? Frankly looks very bad for Baylor.

From today's Advocate:

The LSU coach said Wednesday that changes are coming to his team’s spring football practices next month, and his staff is planning to visit the spring practices of several “opponents” to study their offense. The staff will “emphasize” the passing game during spring drills, and they’ll travel to other sites to learn how to better “attack people effectively with our personnel,” he said. Spring ball is set to begin March 7, and the spring game is scheduled for April 16. “If you do the same thing you’ve always done, it will be the same thing you’ve always been,” Miles said Wednesday at a news conference introducing new running backs coach Jabbar Juluke and receivers coach Dameyune Craig. “We’re going to change spring. It’s going to be different.”

What is REC?
In 2005, Ole Miss hired Freeze as an assistant athletic director for football external affairs.

What exactly are "football external affairs"?
I didn't get the race/black QB breaking barriers conversation before this SB. I guess Russell Wilson was waving his hand in the back of the bus.

That said, how bad a guy must Cam have been to get kicked off the Florida team. Aaron Hernandez says hello to that too.

For the record I believe Newton will be a force in the league until he turns 30 and his wheels start creaking. Take away the run threat and he will less than average.

All the people on stage at the end and Bey's hair is blowing in the wind. The only one. How does she manage that?

re: Tony Dungy HOF?

That pretty much sums it up right there. Not saying he doesn't belong in the HOF but for him to get it before Cowher, Holmgreen and Johnson is absurd.

Let's be real honest. If you were an owner or GM and these 3 guys plus Dungy were available, all in their prime, who would you hire?

He is a fine young man. That said, there are a bunch of really short memory's here.
Ed Orgeron becomes OM HC in 2005. One of his hires is Memphis Briarcrest HC Hugh Freeze as "external affairs coordinator." The following year Freeze assumes the title of recruiting coordinator and OM pulls in a top 15 class.

What exactly does an external affairs coordinator do for a football program?
Pete Maravich drove a tan VW Beetle. He almost hit me once when crossing the street beside the Pentagon leading up to Broussard.

If his commercials end then I'm all for it.
