1998. Preseason #6, returned a senior laden top 15 team from 1997. Finished 4-7

2008.
Mizzou went 12-2 the year before and came into 2008 as preseason #6. We ended up going 10-4 but only went 5-3 in the Big 12 and it took an overtime bowl win vs Northwestern to reach our 10th win. We also lost the Big 12 championship in our home state 62-21, and went from preaseason #6 to #25 in the final polls.

Dubose's last year,2000. Alabama was a preseason #3 national pick and ended up 3-8....lost to Southern Miss, and Central Fla.

2008 preseason #1
Stafford, Moreno, AJ Green (Fr)
OL was plagued by injury and our defense was lead by none other than willie Martinez. We not only lost three games, but each were embarrassing in their own way. Alabama and UF blew our doors off, and GT came back and beat us for the first time under Richt.

2001. From 97-00 we had the best record in the SEC West. Won it in 98, and we should have in 00. We had most of our team back that finished 8-4 and ranked 23 in 2000. We were preseason West favorites and ranked anywhere from 8 to 21. We finished 3-8 and lost to Troy. This began the downward spiral of Jackie which led to Croom.
