I dispute it.

There is nothing to dispute. I was there and the fans clearly got a boost of energy after a horrible first half and the team also responded.

quote:

"The offense just responded to Stephen better," said Ace Sanders, who caught Garcia's lone touchdown pass.

quote:

Garcia was the steadying hand after a butter-fingers first quarter that featured three Gamecocks fumbles, two of which led to East Carolina scores. With Garcia back under center, the offense started to click and South Carolina took control of the season opener.

Garcia had a 32-yard touchdown run his first series and when Lattimore finished the Gamecocks next drive with a 4-yard scoring run, South Carolina fans at Bank of America Stadium began chanting Garcia's name in celebration.

Garcia gets too much credit for that game. The defense finally stepped up after the score got to 24-17 and there were 4 fumbles we recovered. Garcia had no impact on that what so ever.

He didn't even play that well in the game. Defense and special teams were a much bigger factor in the game than Garcia coming off the bench to start his 2011 tour of playing football drunk

Do you really think we would have won that game if Shaw hadn't stayed in?

I don't think you can say we definitely lose.

And I don't think its fair to say that Garcia won the game.

Naming Greg Studrawa as oc

Did you forget that our actual OC was diagnosed with Parkinson's? Studrawa was the only experienced playcaller we had on staff.

Let me rephrase for him then....

Letting Studrawa reamin OC after the 2011 season.

One more for Georgia. 2010 at Auburn. With a 21-7 lead and AU having no prayer of stopping AJ Green, Richt and Bobo inexplicably stopped throwing to him. Had a chance to go for the throat but went conservative instead, Cam got going, and when we tried to flip the switch back to aggressive, it was too late.

0 pts with Shaw who looked horrible, along with the rest of the team. Garcia came in and scored 3 times directly. As I've shown you the team and fans responded differently when Garcia came into the game.

3 of our scores were the result of fumbles. Another was after an interception. A fifth was Ace's punt return.

You and other gamecock fans can go on believing that Garcia saved us in that game with some magical ability similar to Achilles but he still looked and played like crap in the game and didn't have as big an impact as defense, special teams and Marcus Lattimore did.

Nussmeier channeling his inner PAC-12 and going 4-wide shotgun at 1st and goal at the 6 against Johnny Football. As soon as we broke the huddle and set up in the shotgun I yelled at the TV, "We just fricking lost!"

We were absolutely running all over aTm and to come out in a passive formation just pissed me off. Still does.

Mike DuBose waking up and deciding to crawl out of bed the next morning after being named head coach.

Everything went downhill after that.
