I have said, Saban could have taken this years Ole Miss Team to the Playoffs and they would have been competitive. Saban is good when given time (ie LSU in 2011 and the Kickoff Classics they play). His teams play differently with only one week to prep (Clemson 15/16, UGA 17).

... or you know, they just had time to get healthy from the massive injuries they had?

And nice dodge on how long the war tigers had to prepare for a community college.

The hardware doesn't lie, but the champions aren't always the best team in the country. They're still the champs though.
I don't want to get in between you guys...but out of curiosity, who was better than Alabama?

On at least one Saturday, Auburn was. However, the post you responded to has the answer to your question already in it.

Right...

And AU wasn't the best team in 2010. One miraculous fumble goes out of bounds and a key player doesn't tear his pectoral muscle, they lose embarrassingly.

Am I doing it right? Is that how this works?

Bruce Pearl is one goofy motherfricker. There's just something about him that makes me want to punch him right in the nose, but his nose might break my hand.

I’d hate to know what you think about your football coach then.

$49M contract, victory over Bama and UGA in the regular season, SECWco-C and a 3rd appearance in the Big 6 Bowls, I think he had a lot to show for it, but certainly left a lot more on the table that was in reach..

Gus Malzahn running that mouth after the Iron Bowl, a few weeks later Alabama is National Champions he has a 4 loss season and nothing to show for it.

Now word is Bruce Pearl told Gus Malzahn they beat Alabama's arse on their home floor the other night. Bruce Bruce Bruce....don;t you realize there is still the SEC Tournament to play and it is on a neutral floor?

Alabama isn't going to beat you at home, but they did at theirs and they can on a neutral floor, and you just got Karma's attention just like that damn fool Gus did. Good luck because you just gave them a lot of incentive to pay that arse back.

Antistradamus strikes AGAIN....I got ripped after the Iron Bowl for presenting the possible scenario...which came to pass.

Now I warned you Barners one more time and you just don't listen.

Pretty much like football, get Aubie away from home and they struggle.

ETA
I would hedge that by saying I think 2010 Auburn was the best team in the country, though.

5 out of 9 years compared to 1 out of 60 years. I'll take that.
