Too bad you can’t refute the facts. So who would lack “self awareness?” Someone expressing an commonly known, nationwide held view or someone like you trying to deflect? Your new coach hasn’t been on the job three days, and you people are already f*****g him up. Worst fan base/culture in college football. Go back to your cesspool.

Lol, you are BIG MAD, squirt.

The lack of self-awareness is accusing a team of being irrelevant when a.) all of your school traditions are about said team, and b.) your own team has never even been relevant. In other words, see the spiderman pointing at spiderman meme.

I'm not deflecting anything. I know the Eyes of Texas is a touchy topic. I also think the way Sark responded to it was perfectly fine. I don't think there's any significant faction of the UT fan base that would have a problem with what he said in the press conference.

The only reason you think we're the worst fan base/culture in college football is because your political ideals don't line up with every single Texas fans' and the fact that you've lived your entire life watching Texas be the flagship while you were probably denied admission. And based on your posts, grammar and extreme childish behavior, I don't think you were smart enough to get into A&M either. Which is sad considering they have one of the worst acceptance percentages in the entire state.

Such sound logic will never be applied in liberal progressive Cancel Culture.

The AD told him that was the athletic dept position. Your boss tells you their position then that’s it.

It's past time for another attempt at secession.

That's why it was funny.

A&M is very bitter about having their best season ever and having to watch the national media ignore it in favor of covering Texas’s new coach.

For years they’ve acted like scorned lovers when they ran from TU to the SEC, attempting to tear down your fan base and school in hopes that the traditional powers in the SEC wouldn’t go looking into their past. It didn’t work, and everything A&M has said about Texas and their fans hasn’t been true in my experience, while everything the Big 12 warned us about when they joined has been spot on.

I'm not part of that argument but this quote is absolutely hilarious to me. Good job!

Sark already stepped in it...he should have known this was a loaded question.

I watched the clip of it. He did NOT hesitate when asked and I could tell he fully understood why he was being asked the question. He has balls to say what he did, tbh.

Although I have to wonder if the admin at Texas had already discussed the issue with him and told him they were fully behind the fight song. This means Sark knew he was "good" in saying what he did.

EDIT: I just now saw the article posted above about "Roll Tide" and "Gator Bait." I am just thankful they haven't came after AU yet. Here's the story of "War Eagle" from AU's official site:

quote:

The most popular story about the battle cry dates back to the first time Auburn met Georgia on the football field in 1892 and centers on a spectator who was a veteran of the Civil War. In the stands with him that day was an eagle the old soldier had found on a battlefield during the war. He had kept it as a pet for almost 30 years.

Also AU's fight song contains the phrase "Power of Dixie Land."

When lazy and soul-less "journalists" stop being incentivized to conjure up fake outrage and controversy over every single tradition more than 5 minutes old.

Its fun to see that the aggy hate for their step-brother Texas is still so strong that they’ll side with the media , which they also hate.

Finally something all fans of football can agree on. What tf was the point of even asking him that on his first few days. Just trying to get shite stirred.

In my opinion, Herman got cut about a year earlier than expected because he wishy-washy about that bullshite. He lost just enough booster support by being diplomatic that he didn't get a 5th year. He didn't have a bad year in 2020 and honestly COVID screwed him out of likely getting an "upset" victory over defending national champion LSU early in the season to build some hype. There was no logical reason to fire him and Sark is not a solution to the core problems Texas is facing.

With that said, Sark ain't a dumbass and gonna say the things that makes the boosters- that just paved the way to his pay day and HC second chance - happy.
