Florida is not not a one dimensional University when it comes to athletics. I'm so happy LSU made this commitment years ago to get out from under being just a football school. Hopefully Trent will have our basketball program back to relevancy soon.

Because there is no way to disprove my theory I am going under the assumption that UF is ranked this high in both of these sports only because SC doesn't sponsor those sports. Otherwise UF would be down a notch in each of those.

I mean congrats to UF for their success across the board but at the end of the day outside of baseball, football, and hoops...

...nobody gives a shite.

At 95% of schools, nobody gives a shite about baseball either. Women's basketball gets more national attention than baseball does.

Josh...you didn't post our poll ranking in bass fishing. I think our team did real well last year and returned just about all members.

Extremely impressive by Florida. BTW, I absolutely DESPISE the football only rednecks in my (Bama's) fanbase. NOTHING p##### me off more than the backwoods redneck "but whut didya dew in fuhtbawl tho?" element in our fanbase. Talk about having no life whatsoever.

As an aside it's nice to Mal Moore showing greater support for a more rounded athletic program at Bama (not on Florida, UGA, or even LSU's level but much better) and raising the profile of some programs that have historically faltered. Women's golf has been ranked #1 much of the year for the first time ever. Softball (always strong) is #1. Gymnastics (always strong) is #2 behind Florida. Men's golf has been #1 as recently as last year and is annually ranked in the Top 10. If we could get baseball and the crumby women's basketball program up to speed things would be as well rounded as they've ever been.

Texas Florida and California generally have the best talent (high school), not too suprising.

Id be curious to see how Texas (UT) compares across the board

And lets not forget academics.

UF and to a lesser extent UGA are lightyears ahead of the rest of the SEC (excluding the Dores', obviously) when it comes to academics.

Florida is one hell of a school. It's a damn shame that Gainesville and the campus suck so hard.
