That could be scary with the talent they can get down there. I imagine he could probably recruit pretty good down there too.

He's an excellent play caller, but he's not big on recruiting.

Florida needs a young guy who is good at recruiting nationally, given the inroads so many other football powers have made into the state. Or they need to open up NIL even more and help Napier's replacement lock down the state. Florida talent can sustain 1-2 schools but not 3, and certainly not with all the other mouths feeding right now at the trough.

I would make Dan Lanning tell me no first before moving on. Granted, I understand he is a longshot.

Weird. I heard he was really good with college level interns.

That has been the knock on him. Plus he left Louisville in ruins.

Lanning must have some magic dust he carries around in his pockets. His buyout is huge and he is getting everything he wants from Phil Knight. And Dan Lanning has never won a thing as the man.

The NFL is churning out all these young coordinators who are now head coaches and being successful. The Texans, Seahawks, Colts, Eagles, to name a few. Yet every time a traditionally upper-tier program needs a savior we get Dan Lanning and his 20 million-dollar buyout.

He would have an exciting offense and win some games.

I think a lot of UF fans would take that right now.

No more B level coaches, Saban, Kiffin, Meyer or bust!!!

Seriously, I would rather keep Napier and wait for an A-lister to name his price.

This is true but I wonder if his recruiting short falls have more to do with where is has been at rather than his ability to recruit. Arkansas does not produce many blue chip players and Louisville is not exactly a hot bed for talent either. Florida is loaded. At the end of the day in the NIL world money is what rules.

Nope.

In my most humble of opinions, Florida needs a defensive coach that recruits with a wrinkle O. Or a standout O minded coach with a decent DC and a staff of recruiters. That’s with all other things being equal.

However, until they fix the AD/NIL/administration level issues no coach will be successful in multiple years. A guy can go there and have random limited success building a team but it will not be sustainable.

This ruined Tennessee

Mike Hamilton, great guy, terrible AD.

Hart was a little better. Currie was a toady for Lil' Jimmy Haslam.

Fulmer...just no comment. Had Leach in the bag. He kills it for Pruitt.

UT finally has an AD, and it is starting to show.

Great fit. With Florida weather he could ride his cycle year round.

He's such a cancer and a bad human. His name pops up like an AIDS outbreak every year, and it's nauseating.

There's good young minds out there that are more deserving, have an actual upside, and don't have miles of bad baggage attached.
