Clemson could get any recruit they want. Especially in the SEC. They are THE face of college football and the only true dynasty since USC.

Texas could also get any recruit they want. They are a powerhouse. A juggernaut.

Hell, they have their own TV network! Woah!

We recruited well as a Big 12 team (like better than SEC Arky well) but we still got a boost when we went to the SEC.

The SEC brand means a lot.

If it weren’t for the SEC brand we would recruit like Southern Miss

Generally speaking better but if a school like CU moved to the SEC it wouldn’t matter

Y'all not the only ones. Every school not named Bama/UGA/LSU and maybe Auburn, would take a severe hit in recruiting not having those conference coattails to ride. Some are just more willing to admit it.

Depends. Most team would not go 11-1 or 12-0 in the SEC like they do playing shite teams that make up the ACC or Big 12. So maybe better at first, then the same after a team like Clemson settles to it's 8 win season ceiling playing decent competition.

Only team I've seen get a recruiting bump from the SEC was ATM because that's all they sell, and they're in a big 3 recruiting state.

Nebraska got zero recruiting bump in the B1G
Colorado got zero recruiting bump in the PAC
Missouri got zero recruiting bump in the SEC

UH, did Clemson finish #1 in any recruiting stats? No

Whether you like it or not, despite Alabama losing a rare national title game, Alabama remains the the face of college football as long as Coach Saban is there. There is no argument.

But to say USCw was a true dynasty shows you have no idea what a dynasty is (hint it lasts longer than 4 years)

Rankings favor certain teams. Clemson gets the players they want. Look at Alabama native Justyn Ross. They wanted him, so they took him.

Depends on where. Playing in the SEC is definitely a recruiting booster, but location is important.

I think worse, if you’re already convincing kids to come based on not being in the SEC why go there to get smacked around and injured by a brutal, physical schedule? The key thing here is doing good already though and I’m not a proponent for fixing something that ain’t broke. I’d almost rather a number 20 class over number 12 if it means I got the second best or even top class in my conference instead of like 4th place for a 12th overall class. But that’s where coaching and x/o’s come into play I guess.

I think those 3 are examples of moving outside your footprint; the local fans have zero interest in the new conference foes.

A&M to the SEC, I think LSU and Arkansas made it a lot better for them.

Clemson to the SEC, I could see it bringing increased interest. You already have SC rivalry, plus a history of great games with Auburn and Georgia. Now toss in the potential Bama matchup and it would be great.

On the other hand, I think Oklahoma would take a big hit. No established rivals, uncertain spot in the pecking order (see: Nebraska in the Big 10).

Won't happen but would love to have you and Nebraska in the big 12.

Oklahoma would take a big hit, because they wouldn't have Texas lap to sit on.
