Notre Dame: genuinely believe they are special and should be treated differently than everyone else. The worst bandwagon fans in the country, so many elitist asshats who have an uncle who went to ND 40 years ago and therefore they have the right to talk down to you about your alma mater. Put it this way: when I see someone wearing ND gear, I assume that they will be clueless about ND football and a wannabe elitist arse. The only fanbase that I automatically judge in this regard on sight, everyone else at least gets the benefit of the doubt.
I had a stunningly opposite experience with them in Athens. Very nice people, far from the Ohio State type of arrogance than I was expecting.

Florida State
Surprised to see this thread get this far without mention of FSU.
For a while they were unquestionably at least among the worst, IMO.

Going to have to second this but split between UCF and Houston. Most "new money" trash balls ive ever been around and this was before the b12 invite. The whole left behind thing sucks for Memphis but the sliver of a silver lining is we dont have to deal with those folks anymore.

They weren’t drunk yet. Georgia people are great sober, half of them are idiots that need to quit drinking. The other half the booze fosters comedic genius. It sounds like you found the Dawgs that can’t hold their liquor.

Speaking of bad fans, y’all are certainly hostile to us when we play at the Liberty bowl. I get it though and don’t hold it against you.
Tennessee and Arkansas fans (in Little Rock) are the worst I’ve been around.
Texas Tech fans suck pretty hard too. They all look like Fred Durst

Jerry gives a ton of money to Arky. He said it would help him a lot if his alma mater would gift him a 10 year contract at his playground.
I don't like it but that is the way the world works. Good on him.

Oh, for sure, Memphis fans are terrible. Just not enough of us to register on the scale. However, you gotta keep in mind that when yall play here a lot of those folks arent really Memphis fans. They're your conference mates fans in disguise.

Ohio State fans are vile, I get the banter between fanbases but they're worse than Philidelphia fans. On a personal note, I think it's aggy by far.

LSU fans can be annoying, especially when they are having any success, but they’ll at least give you gumbo and crawfish to eat while yelling “tiger bait” in your ear 8,000,000 times
Can confirm. Last time in Baton Rouge for Bama-LSU was in 2018. We strolled through Touchdown Village and finally got stopped and asked to hang out with some fun Tigah fans. They fed us beer and shots and gumbo. Meanwhile, a Bama elephant was hung by the neck in effigy and was getting beat with a broomstick 15 feet from us, lol.
Oh yeah, 29-0.

I don't doubt this at all. The frat crowd is pretty awful.

As someone who went to both recent ND vs UGA games in Athens and South Bend, this couldn’t be further from the truth. ND fans are top tier.
I think he's referring to your run of the mill Notre Dame fan who is a fan by association of being Catholic. They don't have quite the bandwagon they used to, but the older crowd will attest as to how bad they used to be in the 80s and 90s when they were still winning at an elite level. It was so much worse when they were, literally, the only program in college football who had every game nationally televised.

It’s the Buckeyes.
IU for basketball. Most sanctimonious fans in the history of sports.

Tennessee is close behind.
Not really, I can think of a half dozen at least before the Vols
1 cow college in austin
2 U$Cheats
3 Iowa (They are like BuckNuts, but haven't won anything)
4 Tech
5 Baylor (seriously creepy)
6 Dook (I know this is football but bad enough to be mostly carpetbagging Yankees and the worst traits of any T-shirt fan base, it goes even lower that most are TV assclowns who do not even follow the sport of basketball)

I've only seen this type of thing happen once TBH. I was at the UT/Alabama game with some buddies from UT in 2005. If you remember, Alabama was undefeated at the time, and Tennessee, at the time, was in the top 20. The game ended up being an Alabama win 6-3 after a UT player fumbled the ball near the goal line for what would have been the winning score. Nevertheless, that whole weekend was such a weird vibe of Alabama college kids begging for a fight. Told my drunkest buddy he needed to cool it because I could tell there was a lot of "fake niceness" going on and the guys he was talking to were looking for any reason to start shite. Sure enough, after the game Saturday, my aforementioned buddy said something harmless that resulted in him getting punched in the mouth by a guy in the Alabama chapter of his fraternity.
By and large, however, I've had more issues with fans from my own fanbase and it's generally more a result of rednecks being rednecks than any one particular fanbase being horrible. Most of the time, altercations are caused by white trash, people who can't control themselves drinking alcohol, visiting fans looking for a confrontation, or a combination of all three. And TBH, if you have any sense and/or maturity, it's very easy to remove yourself from situations like that. Most recently, had some mouthy coonass being a rude a-hole to my wife at the 2019 SECCG. She was trying to take a picture of the team pregame when guy was trying to get through to his seat. She asked him if he could wait a few seconds for her to take a picture. The guy cussed at her (while with his 8 year old son no less). Part of me was like "frick this guy for speaking to my wife that way, I'm gonna make something of it." But the more sensible side of me thought, what is the endgame here? Talk shite back to this a-hole, he starts a fights, and we all escorted out of the game?....or let his trashy self be trashy, and I go on about my business and enjoy the game.
Honestly, it's pretty rare to see fans go out of their way to be assholes to an opponent's fans, regardless of the fanbases involved.

Ohio State is pretty bad.
But Texass is the worst.

I would also like to nominate WVU fans among the worst. They are kind of like Tennessee's ex-cousin in-laws.
Yeah I went to morgantown for the WVU vs texas game a few years back, their fans are trashy in ways I didn't know were possible. Entire parking lots where you couldn't walk without stepping on trash, and fans cheering when texas players got injured. (not booing because they thought they were faking, actually cheering because they got hurt).
Only reason they aren't higher on this list is there's not a lot of them.

In my experience, it’s absolutely definitely certainly positive that the only correct answer here is…
Miami. They make Texas, Bama, Georgia, Florida etc fans all look good.

Texas fanbase is trash like Tennessee but without all of the SEC tradition. Texas home games are miserable and boring. At least the Vols get rowdy.

As much shite as we give them, 8&4 fans aren't all that bad. I've never met an a-hole one IRL.
I have been to Jerrys World for the SouthWest classic and have rode the shuttle bus with Aggie fans when they came to Fayetteville. They have all been friendly.
It's kind of our defining trait. Internet fans can get quite cringey though. I shake my head a lot reading posts because we have internet fans that just cannot stay away from bait even if they know it is bait.

Ohio State has more jersey wearing fans than any fan base and it isn’t close.
