Worst Defense To Ever Finish Top 3 In The West?

While it is pretty much a forgone conclusion (which makes me cry) that A&M will again finish 3rd in the West behind Bama and Ole Miss, my question is, has a team with this bad of a defense ever finished that high before. AU 2010 maybe? Didnt follow them too much honestly, so cant compare how bad their D was to the atrocity we are fielding currently.

I am amazed at how young lsu is at d, just hard to be dominant when u are that young.

What's so great about the Bama D? They gave up 42 points last week. Why is it a "foregone conclusion" they'll win the SEC again?

I honestly was insinuating that Auburn had a horrid defense. I honestly didnt know much about it. And seeing how yesterday when all the Cam vs JFF threads were swirling around the JFF is having to carry his defense angle was countered by stats showing AU allowing nearly as many PPG. So I didnt know if that was a bad defense or just an excuse for the sake of arguement.

Which is why they aren't dominant. You can't give up 17 points to UAB or 13 to a Kent St team that could only muster 17 against Liberty and call yourself dominant.
