Similar to Mack Brown in that he regularly under-utilizes his talent. Runs one of the most ugly and unsophisticated offenses ever witnessed. Can barely speak modern English. However the gods have blessed him with a unique characteristic: luck.
Is that you, Braden Gall?

don't care...you still haven't given any credible reason to compare Miles to Chizik except for "his offenses haven't been that good the last few years...derrrrrr"
You can't engage in productive discussion with someone who has predetermined their beliefs in concrete. I suppose that it's the curse of the football fan.

hey...you made the statement. i'm just asking for some clarification....but apparently you have nothing else to add. perhaps you should've thought twice about starting this thread. live and learn i guess. have a good day.

I love how people think recruiting to Texas is easy etc. you have no clue about how hard it is, look at history from Akers to now. Plus with scholarship reductions and new programs starting the depth is leaving.

However, I would bet that most of that came from the Jimbo/Russel years.
so we only credit jimbo and JR for a good offense, and only rag Miles for a bad offense?
ok, that makes sense.

That was simply one component of my argument. What Jimbo did and what Miles has been doing the past few years is not the same. Regardless, the point that I made below that statement still stands.
Also, using "ur" in a sentence meant to proclaim someone's lack of intelligence is just an example of beautiful irony.

I won't lie. Discussing something contentious with someone who is emotional about the subject just isn't very interesting or informative. You can't expect to ignore the 3/4ths of my post which elaborates on my statement and explain me to continue caring about your opinion.

I've actually always considered Les to be very similar to Chizik. Chizik is/was a coach with a background in defense who couldn't coach it at all. Miles is a coach with a background in offense who can't coach it at all. Really, for anyone with an appreciation for offenses, LSU's is horrid. A toss play to run the ball inside of the tackle? Lord. If he hands over complete control to Cam Cameron we may finally see a difference.
Once Les finally moves on, and if LSU replaces him with a decent coach, I will be vindicated. Until then...
Are you intentionally flaming?
Les is not similar to Gene. Les has proven at more than one school that he is a consistant winner. Gene was a proven loser when AU hired him from Iowa State (5-19) and he single handedly put a historically solid AU football program into the shitter just like he did at Iowa State when he hauled in a 0-8/3-9 season at AU in '12.
Gus Malzhan has got a monumental task ahead of him to "undo" the Chizik years, where players had zero discipline, mental or physical toughness and just down right poor development.

it would've been alot easier to just type "sorry...i don't know what the hell i'm talking about."

Obviously I would take Miles over Chizik. There are similarities in the reasons I think that each underachieves. However, Chizik's level in ineptitude is on its own level.
Representing my statements in a way you guys might understand:
Level of underachieving/failing to produce results on the side of the ball that you're most responsible for/utilization, or lack thereof, of talent on a scale of 1-10:
Chizik: 10/10
Miles: 5.5/10
Simply because one suffers from ineptitude at a greater level than the other does not mean that the other does not suffer at all. It isn't zero-sum.

you're really starting to come across as a pretentious douchebag........no offense. those kind of people usually don't last very long on this board.
...and you're still wrong. i would explain to you why but discussing something contentious with someone who is emotional about the subject just isn't very interesting or informative

Intelligent discussion doesn't last long? Weird.
I'm still wrong, huh? I never thought that you would say that.

Choctaw is related to Les Miles, so don't take it personally. He fights with anyone and everyone that dares call Les anything but the greatest ever.

There is a reason many, many people called Chizik's BCSNC season lightening in a bottle, a one hit wonder, a flash in the pan. In hind sight we all know those statements were the God's honest truth.
To even compare Les Miles coaching career/coaching philosophy/overall management of the a football team to that of Gene Chizik is silly.

Yeah, guess that's why LSU's 'unsophisticated' offense averaged over 40 points per game and nearly 300 yards a game passing with Jamarcus Russell in '06 and Flynn in '07.
Guess that's why when Perrilloux bailed in '08 and got dismissed, we had to go with true freshman Lee. The results were predicatble, although he beat your arse at Auburn.
Guess that's why we outscored our opponents in '2011 - FIVE HUNDRED to 123. And only 63 of those 500 were NOT scored by the OFFENSE.
9 of those 13 teams were bowl teams. And only one victory was by less than 13 points....
Wowwwww...What """"luck!"""""
And Lee and Jefferson each threw a long TD pass vs you people in 2011, in a 45-10 'nailbiter.'\
If you remember we lost Kragthorpe (hired as OC in '10) due to Parkinson's and Les and OL coach Studrawa called plays in '11 and '12. Cam will change all that in '13.
Guess that's why our 'unsophisticated offense' ran up over 450 yards vs the #1 defense in the country last year and almost won the game vs bama if not for a missed FG and defensive lapse. That would've changed the whole CFB bowl landscape.
Miles' way of speaking to the media and interviewers may sometimes seem 'different', but if you saw him speak at the SEC media days, or at the annual LSU Alumni Association Sports Banquets, or to his team in the locker room or on the sidelines or in practice, or in commercials or endorsements, you would see a different Les Miles.
Why in the hell do people think he speaks to the media the """"""""SAME"""""""""" way he speaks at banquets or to his team in the locker room, or on the practice field ????????
He doesn't give a RAT'S arse how he comes off to the media.
But that's not WHAT COUNTS is it now?
The man is an Economics graduate of the University of Michigan! He has made speeches at philanthropic events all over the nation, he has visited troops in the Middle East with other coaches, made visits to hospitals and charity events in Baton Rouge area, and even done radio and TV commercials.
Who fricking cares how he answers the media's dumb-arse questions ????????????????????
How was he "LUCKY" in '11 ??? None of our games were close except the Bama game, and we made them look like a high school team in OT.
How was he "LUCKY" in '12 ???? If anything, he was UNLUCKY. Alleman makes that FG and we beat Bama 20-14.
Yours may have been the single most monumentally moronic post in the history of the Rant.....

How is Les Miles on this list? 10 wins every year is a guarantee and beats some of the best each year. Consistently puts guys in the NFL. Stupid comment.

LSUs best offense was with Crowton as OC not Jimbo.
maybe QBs have alot to do with the offense? JJ/Lee not so good QBs, not so good offenses. Flynn/JR good QBs, good offenses. Last year Mett was good at times but inconsistent, kinda like the offense overall.
