With conference expansion should the SEC change its name?

The SEC has already expanded beyond it geographically beginnings. With the possible admission of Texas and Oklahoma should the conferee have a more appropriate name? Maybe something like Tallent Honor Education, THE conference.

We could go with "the confederacy," but that one may have been overdone, even in Texas.

They are thinking of adding tsip, so how about the Southwest conference? Sip will be in control within a decade anyway

But SEC has way too much brand power to abandon unless you absolutely have to.
Besides, Texas is south east relative to nearly half the country.

Originally part of the Southern Conference before forming the SEC.
Just buy "Southern Conference" back from the minor conference.
(I prefer just to keep SEC)

No. They need to quit trying to fix things that are not broken. There is getting ahead of things and then there is being too aggressive. Keep expanding and it won’t matter what our name is, bc it will not be the SEC anymore anyways.
