LSU was a 3rd down conversion away from playing for the SEC title against Georgia. Win that and they play for the National Championship and destroy Notre Dame just like Georgia would have.
You can make the same argument that UF-A&M decided the West last season. If Sumlin doesn't ice their kicker and Bertolet makes the FG he missed we win 20-17 and the West. Likewise, if we don't miss an FGs or extra points against LSU, we win and also win the West. In that instance, the Bama-LSU game would have meant NOTHING, as a win for us in Tuscaloosa gives us the West regardless of the previous week's outcome.
The truth is, while LSU-Bama was a very important game last season for the West race, so was A&M-LSU and UF-LSU. This upcoming season, it appears that A&M-Bama will be the most important game, simply because the Bama and A&M schedules are MUCH easier than LSU's. Still, both Bama-LSU and A&M-LSU will be important games as well.
Hell, even games against Ole Miss could be decide things. For instance, if A&M loses to Bama but wins out, we could still win the West if Bama drops games to both LSU and Ole Miss, although unlikely as both games are in Tuscaloosa. Likewise, if we beat Bama, losses to LSU and Ole Miss would put Bama back in the driver's seat.

But Bama and LSU are usually the most physical teams and can both wear opponents down
Last year's game was brutal. LSU just flat wore down Bama and moved the ball all over them. I have not seen Bama give up over 400 yards in the long time. Bama's defense was tired. LSU's conditioning program has come a long way.
Ill say it, Bama was lucky to win. Called the right play at the right time and burned LSU's blitz.

Yes, and we were a goal line fumble away from an undefeated regular season and a trip to Atlanta....what's your point?
No you were a goal line fumble away from possibly going to OT. But Georgia also could have returned the kickoff for a Td, so to assume you win that game just because you score on that play is flawed logic.

You have a point....We were a goal line fumble and a 2 point conversion away.

LSU dominated the aggies after the 1st quarter. You can't just add points to the final score and say you would have won when you scored a garbage td with a few minutes left to make it that close.
Do LSU fans really believe this? Our offense put up over 400 yards and we gifted you 5 turnovers (only 1 of which was forced), yet you only won by 5. If we make those kicks, the game stays within one score the entire time and that "garbage" TD LSU fans like to pretend was irrelevant wins the game. But keep on pretending you "dominated" us if it makes you feel better about your inferior season.

When the aggies actually beat us, then I'll listen to your argument. I know y'all aren't used to prosperity, but please be realistic

not going to argue with you. The eye in the sky doesn't lie. Here is a link to the game LINK. Tell me again what A&M did after the first quarter besides a garbage td late in the 4th. Edited because of a fg mid 2nd quarter

Well if you go back and look at those 5 turnovers, they were not given,A%M just flat out got out physicaled. In the SEC you gotta win when it counts or you will get punked!!! A&M will get the same this season in Tiger Stadium, so prepare your anus!!!

Let's see, first, the 1st quarter FG should have been a TD, but was called back on a questionable, and completely unnecessary clipping flag. Secondly, we missed 2 FGs in the 4th quarter before scoring that "garbage" TD. So, clearly, we were able to move the ball on your defense for most of the game. Mistakes that led to turnover's and missed kicks cost us that game, not LSU's "dominance."

Of Johnny's 3 INTs, one was a drop by Mike Evans that probably would have been a TD, one was due to true FR Thomas Johnson running the wrong route stem, and one was just a horrible decision by Johnny. If you want to argue that your secondary "confused" him, I might concede that as a forced TO.
Of the other two, one was an end of game "let's lateral the ball 40 times in desperation" fumble, and the other was a good force by the LSU D to cause Ben Malena to fumble as he was fighting for more yards for the ONLY time all season. So even on the one turnover truly forced, LSU's defense got somewhat lucky in a very uncharacteristic error by Malena.

aggies two TDs against LSU came 50+ minutes apart. That's not that good in a 60 minute game.
a&m had almost half their offense for the game in the first quarter. From the end of the first quarter till aggies LAST TD drive a&m had 138 yards of offense. That was a span of 42 minutes on the clock.
Tigers ran the ball on 25 of their last 31 offensive snaps. LSU had a rushing advantage of 114 to 4 in fourth quarter.
lil johnny was held to 27 yards rushing for the game and NO rushing TDs and ZERO passing TDs.
So yes you could say LSU dominated that game from second quarter on.
Tigers still finished second in the west.

You fans of West teams need to be a little more worried about beating the East champ this season.
Georgia was the third best team in the East last season and they were 5 yards from beating Bama and winning the SEC.

1st quarter:
A&M: 160 yards, 1 TD, 1 FG (TD called back on out of play flag)
LSU: 40 yards, 2 punt
2nd quarter:
A&M: 83 yards, 1 FG, 2 TO (1 forced), 1 punt
LSU: 120 yards, 2 TD (both off TO's), 2 punt
3rd quarter:
A&M: 68 yards, 1 TO, 2 punt
LSU: 37 yards, missed FG off TO, 2 punt
4th quarter:
A&M: 128 yards, 2 missed FG, 1 TD, 2 TO (1 INT, 1 end of game lateral bullshite)
LSU: 132 yards, 1 FG, 1 TD (off unforced INT), 3 punts
Where exactly was this domination? We dominated the 1st quarter, allowed you to score 2 TDs off turnovers in the 2nd (only 1 forced and at the very end of the half at our 41), and LSU had a worse 3rd quarter than we did. We dominated the 4th quarter outside of allowing Jeremy Hill to go untouched off a missed assignment for 47 yards after yet ANOTHER unforced turnover. All of your points except 3 came on turnovers, with 14 coming off of unforced turnovers.
Hell, if all we do is go 3 and out the last drive of the first half instead of fumbling on our own 41 (the only turnover you could count as forced) we go into the half up 12-7 and win the game. So once again, this game came down to us turning the ball over because of unforced mistakes and missing FGs and extra points. LSU played a good game, but in no way, shape, or form did they "dominate" us.

...lost to Clemson, went 10-3, and finished outside the top 10 in the final polls. We finished 11-2 and ranked #5. We had the better season, and you were lucky to upset us at Kyle Field after we made a shite load of unforced mistakes. DWI. We'll be sure to set the record straight on Nov. 23rd.

It sounds like you need to DWI. You lost to us in your beloved shite smelling stadium.
Your ONE half arse good season has you guys thinking you're on top of the world. Let us know when you win something of value.
BTW you finished 3rd in the west
