what's funny is gus doesn't have a natty either and on average performs far worse year ot year than kirby, yet AU fans think kirby is some kind of bum.

I'd take "occasional" compared to "none"

Yes...and when they do, you know their response to every anti-UGA post on the rant will be "2055". After all the "1980"s they've endured and would have endured by then, they've earned it.

Chizik won it in year 2 and Gus got there in Year 1. That doesn't mean a thing about him in a few years.

But what you left off the rest of my post is a better indication that his success is more likely to have staying power than those two guys.

02-07: extremely good, several titles. One down year in 06

08-10: underachieving some to downright bad. Richt was told after 2010 to win 10 games and/or the east or he was going to be fired

11: did both of the above to build back momentum

12: a c-hair away from beign national champs

13: beat two teams ranked in the top 6 in the country in september before injuries derailed the entire season

14: won 10 games but was overall a disappointment

15: fired after another mediocre season
12 to 13 years for nothing to show but winning the East and the sec a few times is along time free pass. If the East stays as bad as it is and they somehow manage to win the conference every 2 or 3 years he would never get fired.

Like Auburn is rolling in Natty's.

And shouldn't you be worried about Gus and his record vs UGA,LSU and Bama?

Is trolling UGA and Kirby the only thing Auburn fans look forward to?

I see you didn't (can't, really) refute what I actually typed.

quote:

You can’t beat LSU, Bama, or Clemson

-we've played LSU exactly once with kirby and lost.
-we've played bama closer than anyone except clemson the last 2 years. And we can actually score on them occasionally, which LSu clearly has trouble with
-Texas beat us by 7 in a game we didn't care about with our 2 best defenders out

Your post is as retarded as me saying "LSU can't even beat notre dame or troy!" See how that sounds?

You know......it is possible that Alabama doesn't turn into South Carolina once Saban leaves and actually, I dunno, keeps being pretty good.

Crazy I know, just food for thought as we discuss the post-Saban world where Alabama apparently ceases to exist.

Let's be honest for a moment.

What school is going to fire a coach who gets to the CFP every few years like clockwork?

I mean, perhaps if you got your arse handed to you every time you made the CFP. I could see that. But if you get there and don't embarrass yourself that's probably going to make 99% of Power 5 schools out there happy. I can't see Ohio State firing that coach. Maybe Bama. Definitely not Oklahoma, Texas or Michigan. Honestly, I don't think any non-SEC school would fire that coach. There's a lot more pressure in the SEC in no small part because everybody is trying to keep up with Saban and Bama. In every other conference, making the CFP every few years and fighting strong to the finish is way more than enough to secure your job for life.

I don't think Kirby can win one while Saban is still in the league. But, even after Saban retires, I'm not convinced that Kirby can win a natty at UGA. It's not exactly a program that has a history of winning championships.

We have just as many as Auburn does, yet Auburn fully believes they will get another one.....but not Georgia!
You just gave Gus a huge extension. Does your administration believe Gus will get Auburn one?///or are they just throwing huge bucket fulls of cash out of the window?

I wouldn't call it a free pass though. Chizik made it easy by going 3-9, that's an easy call. Gus has lost AT LEAST 4 games every year at AU besides the first! Talk about a free pass. With Richt he was winning 10 games almost every year, that's not nearly as cut and dry.

No SEC coach in history would get fired for winning the SEC title every 3 years. None.

When did Gene Chizik win his natty again? So, yeah, might want to realize that prior results early in a career do not guarantee future success.

Nor do they guarantee future failure.

Please post Chizik's recruiting results after his natty. Please post Auburn's record the year after his title.

So, yeah, might want to think about what you type before you actually do it and remove all doubt that you have an IQ deficit.
