Will Anderson just didn't have enough snaps and overall body of work as Jordan Davis.
Anderson will be much better next year and probably will have more stamina to get the overall award then.

Isn't that average for 99.9% of the players in the country? In an absence of a title he'll have to settle for being the best defensive player in the country. There is only one of those.
