Unfortunately they will not even try.
Plus, Cignetti is a sadistic bastard and will be happy prison raping Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon for the foreseeable future.

No, but if bammer was still bammer, they would be trying to make this move right now

IU’s boosters could easily match whatever offer that Alabama throws at him.

Don’t think he would leave nor do I think you will get rid of deboer, but you would be smart to try.
Alabama fired Mike Shula one year removed from a 10 win season and a Cotton Bowl win. They finished the 2005 season ranked in the Top 10. They saw an opportunity to hire Saban the following year and took it. It wouldn't surprise me if they try to do so again with Cignetti after next season.

Holy shite. You buried that window licking retard.

Wouldn't matter if we tried. Cig ain't coming to Alabama no matter what. He's getting paid quite handsomely at Indiana and doesn't need the "tradition" of Alabama or anyone else. Only move he makes next is to the NFL.

Agree here except:
Nobody's learned more from Saban than Cignetti and part of that is you don't need to be an NFL coach to be great. In fact, it kind of makes it very prohibitive.
An aside, Cignetti said he learned more about coaching in his first year with Saban than all 27 years before combined. So, he stayed for 3 more seasons and just got a HC job where he could.

Let's see.
Stay at Indiana which has as much NIL money available as any school and play a weak arse B1G schedule.....or
Go to Bama and play a nightmare schedule where the fanbase expects a national championship every 3 years.
What would you choose?

The Alabama job is not as glamorous as Alabama fans want to believe it is.
Historically speaking, Alabama is the crown jewel of college football. They were one of perhaps 6 or 8 programs who could make such a claim prior to Saban. But the GOAT put considerable distance between Bama and the tOSU's, Oklahoma's et.al. While the days of domination like what we saw with Bryant and Saban may be over for good, the Bama job is still top tier and will remain that way because Bama demands excellence and has proven they can and will provide the resources necessary to be successful.

I honestly don’t think Alabama can entice him to leave. Personally I think it’s because of his age and don’t want to keep moving around at that age. If he didn’t leave for Penn state, he’s not going to Alabama. He’s from Pennsylvania.

May not need the NFL to be great, but the NFL is much less of a headache than college. You have to give up some authority, sure, but you don't have to deal with roster management as much. And it's more professional, so you don't have to 'babysit' the players as much. Always a trade off, though.
