Absolutely. They were a total shite hole for two decades before he came along. Expect the same.

Alabama has won championships for 100 years. They were a blue blood before Saban and they will be after him. Saban didn’t build Bama. He is the GOAT, but he built on an existing foundation. He will tell you that himself.

my guess is that a UF fan could query him on things only UF fans are likely to know about their school and he wouldn't be able to answer

Luckily for you OP, it would seem that Saban will be delivering at LEAST 5 more years of heinous arse kickings w/an SEC and/or national title sprinkled in...

So don't stop believing brother.. AND, if you value being able to walk without a limp, keep your anguses lubed...

The bottom line is Coach Saban is/was a once in a generation talent. And yes, IMO he has obliterated Bryant.

Agreed. Bryant didn't have play-offs or SEC title games to contend with. Bryant played 11 games and that was it. Back then they awarded the NC BEFORE bowl games, so he didn't even have to win his bowl games.

Also when he coached there were no scholarship limits, so he just stockpiled talent to keep it off rivals' benches.

And I would contend the SEC is far more competitive today then back then. What Saban has done is far more remarkable. Even if you want to argue Saban cheats or pays players, it is still impressive even if that were true.

I think we see more of a LSU type trajectory. Several years competing for a natty and most years winning 8-10 games.

Personally, I'd like the scholarship and total staff numbers reduced to provide more parity.

He doesn't have to do that anymore. He's built a machine.

It will be the same as before Saban. No good coach in his right mind will take that job. The fan base are a bunch of assholes. Who is his right mind will want to follow god. This school will be a desert for 100 years after god.

I assume you reached the age of following college football somewhere between 1997-2006? Forget about about the other 100 years college football was played before that 10 year period. Even in that down 10 year period, Bama had three 10 win seasons and an SEC title. Stallings averaged 10 wins a season from 1990-1996 and won a national and SEC title. Much like Florida after Spurrier, Bama had some down years from 1983-1989 after Bear, but still had 2 10 win seasons and 2 9 win seasons during those 7 seasons.

Or maybe, just maybe, the right coach, with the right mentality will come along, inherit a team with boatloads of talent, toughness, discipline, a blueprint for success, won't be a pussy, and comes in realizing that he can do great things also.. BTW, you might not wanna believe it but coaching at Bama seems to make coaches better... Shula, Francioni, Dubose, all had winning seasons at BAMA BUT mediocre success at other schools... Saban was a very good coach at LSU but when he came to Bama he has become the GOAT... Bear Bryant was VERY good before "mama came calling", he became legendary at Bama...

Coincidences??? Perhaps... But if you believe that elite coaches will shy away because of what Saban accomplished, most of them would tell you to GFY... BECAUSE you have no idea of what makes them ELITE... No one, even the radical Bama fans believe that they will see anything like this again... BUT, I can assure you that Bama will not sink back into "mediocrity" as some define it...

3x award winning poster Tuscaloosa served it up on tee for so many home runs and no one even took a swing. What the hell is going on here?

Depends on whether they hire a DL coach with a sub .500 head coaching record to replace him or not.

Bama has won an SEC title in every decade the SEC has existed, actually even before when it was the Southern Conference.
